We were there on 6 Nov. for a reception of only a few hours . This has at one time been an elegant West Ferry mansion, turned now into a small hotel. First impressions are crucial, the car park was a mess of dingy leaves and very slippery, the entry stairs were nearly covered with a ramp making them very... More

We stayed here for two nights. Check in at the bar, take the key and find the room. The room was adequate but with very high ceilings and large single glazed windows, chilly the first night. Once warmed through it was fine the second night - so the heating needs to be put on sooner to air the room on... More

Reading the other reviews it is apparent that many of the customers visit the hotel for the restaurant only and not to stay in any of the rooms. The accommodation is clean but dated. Single glazed windows do not keep the heat in and any bathroom without a heater in winter is not ideal. The emphasis seems to be on... More

I recently had lunch and prior to going telephone the hotel and arranged to have plain Salmon with boiled rice. We were the only table yet we waited 30 minutes for our lunch. My first bit of salmon tasted very peppery , the second bit burnt my throat and caused severe coughing. My daughter tasted a small piece and said... More

This hotel is situated in lovely grounds with great views over the Tay. When I stayed occupancy was very low and you fear for its long-term viability. It may not annoy many visitors but for me the decor was only fair with over-painting of light fittings and visible stains to much of the seating: it just needs a bit of... More

Found this hotel online and booked a last minute night away. From booking to departure found staff most accommodating and friendly, room was a bit dated but very clean, tidy and comfortable. Dinner was lovely, again served by friendly staff. Similarly breakfast was most enjoyable and plentiful. Would definitely recommend and we will return to the Tayggrechan next time we are in... More

The friendly staff made my stay very good. The bedroom overlooking the garden was most comfortable. Fiona and Adel, in particular, went out of their way to help me. I have recommended it, and a family member is staying there this week.

Four of us visited the Taychreggan for a meal. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and took the time to make us feel very welcome. Two of our group ordered curries, and two of us ordered from the 'pub favourites' part of the menu. I had steak pie and it was outstanding. The beef was tender and very tasty,... More

We had our Wedding reception at The Taychreggan on Saturday, the staff are wonderful, we wanted a relaxed atmosphere and that is what we got, the service was excellent, the staff chatted to our guests and kept their glasses topped up! Everyone kept saying how lovely the staff were and how relaxed and welcome they felt. We had a three... More
