Our party of 9 dined at Smiths last night and I have to say the food was excellent. The service was attentive and the menu was well priced with reasonable choice. We would certainly return to Smiths when visiting Kirkintilloch. Just one complaint - the gents toilet is a bit smelly and we were seated adjacent to it. Can I... More

A negative review is well deserved. I always read through others reviews before writing my own, as perhaps to be fair I am expecting too much, however the positive feedback on Trip Advisor is about the restaurant rather than the hotel accommodation. The restaurant 'looks' alright but the same can not be said for anything else. It's a big old... More

We went for Sunday lunch at Smith's Hotel in Kirkintilloch. We ordered from the set menu which was £10.95 for 2 courses. There was plenty of variety - I chose the haggis fritters and my husband had chorizio bruchetta, both were excellent and the portion size was very generous. For the main I had Sunday Roast, my husband had lasagne,... More

I was in with friends for a late lunch last week. The meal was beautiful, and the presentation was great. We got our food very quickly which is great in a busy restaurant. The waitress, nicole was extremely helpful and very polite. Would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone.

We had a late lunch here yesterday..... Fish and chips which were good, and a reasonable price. The bar/restaurant area had a smooth seventies vibe/appearance and was quite relaxing. The only slight drawback was the waitress who didn't seem to enjoy her job. A smile can work wonders! Maybe we caught her on a bad day?

My wife and I just had an absolutely lovely Sunday lunch in Smiths today. We used the 12-4 £9 two course menu and there was a very good food selection. I had the steak pie and was surprised by the massive amount of meat was in it. Very tasty and filling. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Been here... More
