I enquired both by email and telephone about this place as a possible venue for my daughter's wedding. No one bothered to reply and the one conversation I did have with the venue manager was off hand to the point of rudeness. Don't bother with this venue....there are plenty places that welcome the business.

Here is a nice place to stay when in Edinburgh. Silent, clean, safe. The employees are kind and the hospitality open and warm. Breakfast and food brilliant and good. I will absolutely come back. The garden in a nice place to be with it's flowers, threes and places to sit down with a good novel or book. The chapell is...

I was here for a business meeting recently and had booked a business lunch. The food was exquisite and the service was fantastic. The fantastic staff were so friendly and if this was a restaurant open to the public they would do a roaring trade. The food is homely and of a very high standard. I have also heard very...

A bit of a walk from the centre, the number 5 bus goes from right outside and will take you if the weather is bad as it was when we visited. Rooms are very basic with no Tv, clock etc. Though the kettle and hot chocolate and teas were a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was basic continental though the eggs and...

I experienced B&B in the Gillis Centre last night. The Centre is far from purpose-built: it is an old, sprawling building which has been adapted to fit its present role. It has many advantages: well situated, near the city centre; a walled car-park, beautiful gardens, but its main asset is its friendly and helpful staff! On the downside: the building...

Clean, comfortable, friendly, welcoming, overall good value. Free Wi-Fi and friendly staff. Basic room, but ideal for the cost & location - close to Morningside for food & drink options and an easy walk through The Meadows to the centre - bus stops also handy. Will stay again.
