Excellent stay couldn’t of asked for more from the hotel. Got in our room early, not the best view but we were hardly in it anyway. Hotel is in close proximity to bars and restaurants. We went to the resident Lebanese restaurant Sofia’s, highly recommend it as the food and service was superb. Special mention to Angelo the crazy Italian who made the effort with everyone and brought sunshine to breakfast times with his cheery chat and banter. The world needs more people like Angelo please pass on our good wishes to him.

Hotel's Favourite
Everything about this hotel either lived up to or exceeded my expectations. The staff were impressive in the way that they made you feel that your needs were important to them, something which isn't that common in a chain hotel. I liked the foyer area and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast in covid times is going to be more difficult but it was dealt with very well and was actually quite relaxing. This is a very reasonably priced hotel, close to the city centre which I have no hesitation in recommending and will stay here again when next in Edinburgh.

Stayed for a couple of nights. Nice quiet hotel, friendly helpful staff. About ten minute walk from Haymarket station. 20 minutes from Princes Street and 2 minute walk to the bus stop. Nice hot breakfast with plenty of choice. All in all a very pleasant stay and would recommend.

If the hotel were not spotlessly clean and the staff so courteous, I would rate this a two. We understand that European hotel rooms tend to be small, but not only was our room small, there was no storage to speak of. It was best suited for a single person staying one or two nights. There were only two small drawers in one nightstand and minimal storage space in the bath. The small closet was equipped with 2 hangers, and much of the space taken up by a luggage rack and the ironing board. There is one deep shelf above, which would be nice for storing luggage, but as we could not unpack it was of little use. The queen bed was fairly comfortable, but the foot of the bed is noticeably higher than the head, I had to use two pillows to avoid feeling like blood was rushing to my head. The worst part of the room was the climate control, which appears to power off during the day, and doesn’t not adequately cool the room. You cannot set it below 18 C, which would be fine if the unit would actually cool to that temperature. We sleep at the equivalent of 19.5 at home (67 F), and both were way too warm in the room even sitting to read or watch TV. We notified the front desk of the issue after our first night. After the fifth night. There was a loud knock at the door (which had a “do not disturb” sign in place) and a young man with a ladder indicated he was there to look at the AC. We let him know we were getting ready to check out-so I cannot say if the situation was rectified. Again-clean, well-staffed hotel. I might stay again, but would depend on the situation. In spite of the “Green Tourism” plaque behind the front desk, be aware there are no recycling bins to be found in the lobby/common areas, nor is there a dedicated spot for recyclables in the room.

I have been staying regularly at this hotel for the past 3 years, whilst visiting family and working. What makes this hotel stand out from other similar hotels, is the exceptional service you receive consistently from the lovely staff. They are friendly, welcoming and always eager to help. In particular, Shahina, one of the reception managers is always professional, friendly and eager to help. She is very efficient and always follows up on any inquiries and issues with such an understanding and friendly manner. She is without doubt an absolute shining star and a great ambassador for Hilton! The breakfast is amazing - full cooked if you want it and a fresh waffle maker with lots of lovely toppings! Lots of healthier options too if you prefer. Fitness centre with all the necessary basics too. Rooms are clean, functional with tea and coffee facilities, a safe for valuables and generous workspace. The bar staff are lovely and always make you feel at home. The Irish student (think his name is Christopher stands out and provides such lovely service) All in all, a lovely hotel that really stands out from others that I have stayed in. From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel at home and do everything they can to make your stay the best it can possibly be. Whoever manages this hotel has it down to perfection. They have created a culture where staff take pride in their work and do it to a consistently high standard. They should be commended for this. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my visits to the Hampton West End over the past few years and would like to thank the staff for making my stays there so comfortable and enjoyable.

The hotel was more like a hostel than a Hilton Honor hotel. The entrance to the room layout was very unappealing. Room was too small, basic necessities were not provided. Too far to the city centre, castle and other attractions.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate the comments and feedback as it enables us to improve our product and service quality going forward. I’m sorry to read that your experience was far from perfect as this is not the usual quality and service that we pride ourselves upon at Hampton by Hilton Edinburgh West End. As a premium economy hotel and as such, do not have some of the amenities that you would find within a full service Hilton but we always try to ensure that our guests feel at home without the fuss of some full-service hotels. Clearly, we fell short of expectation on this occasion. The hotel is situated within the City Centre and is a 5 minute walk to Princes Street and 15 minutes to the Castle so its disappointing that this seemed too far for you. Again, we thank you for your feedback.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff. the only downsides that i have are. The coffee is terrible, please invest in better coffee and not the kind from a machine. In the bedroom the mattress was too firm and the bathroom sink is too high and the wash basin is too far to the wall.this needs to be looked at and fixed.

A nice quiet room. My room preferences were taken into account which is not always the case in other hotels. Walking distance from Haymarket station The breakfast room was spacious and did not get crowded even if there were plenty of customer at times (I had breakfast quite early though). The only downside was that there was only one type of bread available (white). Otherwise the selection of items was good.

I chose this hotel based on knowledge that Hilton has a good standard. We found in the room underwear… The toilet sliding door has a big gap and though there is no privacy in the toilet and room. The breakfast is very basic. The staff was pleasant.

As a premium economy hotel, we always try to ensure that our guests feel at home without the fuss of some full-service hotels. Clearly, we fell short of expectation on this occasion. We have spoken with our Housekeeping department so that they can review their procedures to ensure that something like this doesn't not happen again. To be honest... its not something that happens often. Hampton by Hiltons are a limited service hotel brand and our breakfast is completely free to all guests and therefore we don't have the same options that you may find in a full service hotel. We do offer quite a selection though... Sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, tomato, hash browns, 4 types of cereal, porridge, 2 types of freshly cut fruit, fresh whole fruit, dried fruits, boiled eggs, cucumber and carrot sticks, yogurt, ham, cheese, freshly baked croissants, muffins, freshly baked baguette, selection of breads, "make your own waffle" with our waffle machine, tea, coffee and fruit juice. Again, we thank you for your review :-)
