Booked this hotel due to its location close to the airport as we had an early morning flight to catch. It was easy to locate and had parking that was shared by local offices but as it was the weekend it was no problem to find a space. Check in was friendly and quick , and they had kindly placed ourselves and our friends in adjacent rooms which was nice. You book a travelodge for what you get: comfy bed, clean functional rooms and cost and this fitted the bill. When we arrived the heating in our room was full on but the window wide open which we thought was strange. However when we opened the bathroom door we realised why, there was a horrible smell coming from the shower plug . So we thought ah well never mind its only one night , sprayed some aftershave down and shut door. The bar area was very bright and noisy and looked a bit like a cafeteria, so we decided to get some drinks and return to our room. When we later went down for a 2nd round we spoke to the reception about the shower, and to their credit they offered to swap rooms. As we were already settled we said it didn't matter but we just wanted to make them aware as obviously the cleaning staff had known there was an issue but not reported it. They gave us our next round of drinks for free as an apology. Slept well , but did not eat breakfast as decided to eat at the airport. Great for an overnight stay for a flight but nothing special

The hotel itself is fine. It was clean and we where only staying one night its super close to the airport about 5 mins drive and their is a shop 2 mins walk away if you suddenly remember youve forgot your toothbrush ( me)
My review here is for the resteraunt. The staff this perticular night could not be bothered and you could tell this by their daminor and by the fact they left us sitting so long to take our order as they were chatting amongst the self's. We finally ordered drinks and the girl spilled my drink all over the table including my partners phone. She said sorry then walked away. I thought she'd gone to get a cloth she returned with a couple of napkins and left us to clean it up. Luckily the phone was OK. The food was average I got a curry which was not resteraunt standard but wasnt awful. We also ordered a dessert as part of the meal deal. Sat for forever for the main plates to be taken away then after about 20 min had to ask about desert. She had forgot to put the order the through. We decided rather than to wait for the bill we went to the bar to ask for it to be added to our hotel bill. This wasn't possible unsure why? We waited again to pay because all the staff where being nosey to a problem another customer was having with her card. The till was free for us to be served and my partner was standing with cash in his hand but they all just stood around staring at this situation going on with this other lady. Eventually one girl sort of came out of her trance and gave us the bill and went to walk away back over to this lady. I said sorry can we pay now and she said no. But walked round to the bar where she then held out her hand for the money. I don't know if she was new but when we did she started at it and had to have the cash checked by another member of staff. We walked away at this point. We left no tip and it left such a bad mood I me. Had i not already paid for the room at a reasonable price I would have complained on check out for a refund.

We needed to be close to the airport recently for an early flight and this hotel fitted the bill and was a very good price. We have used this hotel a few times but not for a while and we were a bit worried after reading some of the latest reviews as it sounded as it had gone downhill.
We were given a warm welcome and were allocated a room in the location we had called ahead and asked for which was excellent. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable and that was exactly what we needed.
There is a Scotmid store within easy walking distance from the hotel which is ideal for any snacks etc.
There is also a bus stop just beside the shop where you can catch the number 20 bus which stops at the Gyle centre. From there you can catch other buses or a tram into the city centre. We made use of an all-day ticket costing £4.50 to get the bus and tram into the city where we spent the day before returning back to the hotel in the evening. There are other options for buses into the city centre via a bridge link across the main road but we were happy to use the number 20.
After a peaceful night’s sleep, it was an easy journey into the airport.
We would happily return to this hotel when in the area again.

Throughout our travels in Scotland over the last week, we’ve stayed in a couple of hotels; many of which were Travelodge.

We started out journey in Edinburgh at Travelodge Edinburgh Ratho Station only for 19.99 £ per night, the location was spot on. Being near Edinburgh, we could easily get our rented car from Hertz the very next day.

It had the basic amenities any backpacker would ask for - a clean room, a hot shower, and a comfortable bed. Coffee and tea are provided. For the price, it was definitely worth it.

The customer service is excellent. All smiles, friendly and helpful. Michelle and I were really hungry, so we had dinner there.
The curry and the naan were delicious!

Always look out for the cheaper deals in the Travelodge Website. I booked directly via the Travelodge Website - it was a few pounds cheaper than Agoda.com

Have used this Travelodge several times due to it's proximity to Edinburgh airport so very handy for pre or post flight accommodation - it is what it is. The free parking and on-site restaurant is a bonus. The restricted wi-fi at 30 mins free is outdated although you can pay £3 for 24 hrs. Minuscule non HD tv needs updating though nice to see usb outlets now in rooms.Always friendly helpful staff. Hairdryerneeds to be asked for and no glasses in room only mugs for complimentary tea/coffee with extra supplies available at reception.

We booked our room for such a low price that we were expecting a hotel of far lesser quality. It turned out to be a well-kept, clean hotel, with pleasant staff, offering both breakfast and lunch. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable. We had to pay for wifi and could then only connect two devices, but for the price of the room, we didn't mind. There was also no airport shuttle service, but the bus stop is across the road (via pedestrian bridge, so it might be a bit difficult with lots of luggage) and only cost 2.70 per person.

Ideally located for stay after returning home after flight from abroad before onward journey. Spacious and clean rooms. Breakfast at this time is table service with a choice varying from continental to full breakfast. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Impressed with procedures in place following Covid guidelines, signage and hand sanitisers. Exceptional value for money.

Pros- very cheap, clean, reasonably comfortable, quick check in

Cons - car park far too small, quite noisy outside AND….. Breakfast….. I get this needs to be staggered but offering us breakfast on a Sunday at 8am or 10am with nothing in between wasn’t acceptable.

Overall fine for one night for the money

Evening meal was satisfactory but nothing special. Breakfast though you could eat as much as you like when items ran out they were slow to replace. Not poor but not what I would call great. Coffee and juice machine were dispensing very watered down coffee & Juice

I'm unfamiliar with the area, but wasn't aware of any tram station nearby. I got a taxi to the airport as it would have been a fair walk there with lots of roads to cross.

The X18 bus is what we used (it is the one for Whitburn). You can get it from just outside Waverley station (the 2nd stop to the left when you come up the stairs out of the station). The Lothian Bus website and App will give you exact route details, but it is about 35-40 minutes to Ratho Station stop (easy to see as it is just before a large pedestrain bridge over the road), then a few minutes easy walk.
