The Travelodge Edinburgh Cameron Toll is often commended for its amiable staff and strategic location, which offers convenient bus routes to the city center and nearby attractions. While the atmosphere is generally seen as clean and inviting, opinions are mixed regarding the hotel's value and amenities, with some guests finding them basic or encountering slow Wi-Fi. Although many guests enjoy the cleanliness and comfort of their rooms, others have experienced issues with noise levels and occasional lapses in cleaning services.

This travel lodge is in an ideal location on the south side of the city. Staff were friendly and our stay was good value for money with excellent public transport and free on-site parking. The hotel seems to have had a recent refurbishment and out room was clean, comfortable and quiet considering it is on a main route in and out of Edinburgh. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable price but if you want a good cup of coffee you'll have to go out for it!

Arrived at the hotel around 11.30, went in to try our luck at getting an early check in (even though we hadn't booked one in advance). We were greeted by a lovely Welsh lady called Claire who said she would see what she could do, within 10 minutes she had sorted us out a room and we were on our way up to settle in.
We stayed for 2 nights in a basic but very clean room, everything you would expect from a good Travelodge with the added bonus of USB points to charge phones/devices which were a new addition since our last stay.
The hotel is in a great location for quick access into the city centre with great bus links right outside which take about 10 to 15 mins.
There is also ample free parking at the hotel.
The only small thing I would say was that the room was very warm and the window could only be opened a tiny bit (for safety obviously) and there was no aircon. Not really a problem if you like a cosy room.
The shower was great, powerful and easy to use, bathroom clean and adequate.
Overall another great stay and a bargain at only £55 for two nights for both of us! Great value. Would definitely stay again and the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming, well done.

We stayed here for 2 nights, on arrival we were asked if we required a room on the lower floor or if we preferred a quieter room, we opted for the later and was given room 219 at the end of the corridor, which was indeed very quiet.
The room was exceptionally clean and modern, with usb sockets everywhere.
The hotel is situated 190 metres from the Cameron Toll shopping centre, so easy to get food or any items you have forgotten. The wonderful staff on reception told us where and which buses to catch to go into Edinburgh centre, 1.80 per single trip, the hotel has free parking and the cost of the hotel is about the same as parking in Edinburgh centre for 24 hours,
Yes there are more upmarket hotels with better facilities but for the cost and ease of getting around Edinburgh, this is hard to beat,
When we return to Edinburgh we will be booking here

I stayed here for 4 nights whilst and was very pleased to discover just now comfy the beds are, I slept so well for the first time in ages. The room is very clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. One staff member, Marcello, was particularly helpful after I made a request for room with a bath and he was happy to oblige. Overall a lovely experience, would definitely book again.

Stayed here because hotels in Edinburgh city centre were greatly overpriced, cashing in on the demand because it was Edinburgh tattoo and fringe month.
This Travelodge was situated approximately 3 miles from city centre, and at a cost of £304.00 for 2 nights, because of the events and time of year, the stay was enjoyable.
Room was clean although a little small on the first floor, breakfast daily was buffet style, however because of capacity you had to wait to be seated.
The staff at the hotel were helpful, if you had any issues, WiFi can be a little weak at times, but is available in the room.
Across the road from the hotel, is a shopping mall in case you forget anything, or want those few little extras.
Transport links to city centre, were good with a bus stop situated within a 5 minute walk, and a day ticket costing £4.50, which expired at 0100 each morning.
During our stay here the refuse collectors were on strike, which made the area look unsightly due to all the litter and overflowing bins around the city, hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Just travelled to Edinburgh with my girlfriend from sunday the 16th till Thursday the 20th
When we first arrived we noticed we weren’t in the greatest area for Edinburgh city centre as it was to far to walk. However there is a little shopping centre just down the road with a few shops and bus stops on the main road which you can get pretty much any bus into Edinburgh city centre for £1.80.

Regarding the room. When we first entered its noticeably very small and tight. That’s bearable however the TV is small and the bed which is advertised and branded as a Kingsize is 1000% not a king size as me and my girlfriend have both got a king and double bed between us and it was the same size if not smaller than my double bed. The mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable, you could feel all the springs which were popping out the side of the mattress they were thick metal rods in the side of the mattress.
The room was directly facing the main road which you can hear traffic from 5am up till early morning very loud therefore you need the window closed to stand any chance of a decent sleep. However if the window is closed the room gets extremely warm so ask reception for a desk fan which relatively helps with a breeze.
The reception staff are polite and friendly and are keen to help with any requests.

A reasonably modern hotel designed for short stays. There was just enough parking spaces, we always got a spot The room was small with a comfortable bed, although the room was really hot. I got a fN from reception but it was still warm. There was no hairdryer in the room and toiletries in the bathroom were dispensed in tiny amounts. The location is about £10 in a taxi to the castle. Breakfast was good and with a good buffet selection.

We family of 4 i.e. 2 adults and 2 children stayed for 2 nights at Edinburgh Travelodge in Cameron Toll. The hotel has good connecting bus routes to City Centre and bus stop is 2 minutes walk away from the hotel. There is also free parking in the hotel. The room was good size and a good option for a couple of nights. There is also breakfast available and kids eat free as well.

My only slight issue is the housekeeping is not upto mark and there were some carpet stains which was promptly addressed by the staff I must say. May be a sign of covid times that reduced house keeping in place!

At first it was frustrating to locate the carpark entrance missed it twice finally found it On entry we were greated by Pawel a very polite and enthusiastic young man with excellent manners . He explained everything very well and sorted our minor door issues quickly Room is very tidy smells nice and the beds very comfortable. The is no limit to tea and coffee and the shower facilities are also clean and smells clean, if you have forgotten shower gel its provided fir you along with towels.
We decided to eat in the bar the food is a basic menu we had the steak and ale pie with mash and peas with an onion gravy. I wasn't really expecting 5star food so what I got was a surprise the pie crust was crisp and flakey the mash was really buttery and the peas were cooked correctly all in all a very pleasant meal
For the price we paid im very pleased and looking forward to breakfast
Would I come here again yes I would

Good location (easy bus trip from centre of the city), fantastic staff - every single one of them was friendly, helpful and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast is exactly what was needed and, if things ran out, they replenished them in minutes
