The hotel is clean and within easy reach of amenities, I feel it is over priced for a very small room. It would of been nice to of had Tea making facility's in the room instead of trailing downstairs, this feels like a cost saving measure, but what do you actually get for £160. for a one night stay. Money has been spent on expensive lighting systems but not on customer comfort, I would rather settle for a regular light switch and have a kettle in the room instead. Disappointing and expensive

Hotel's Favourite
I stayed here for 3 nights and it was the perfect base for my stay in Scotland! The location is central and only five mins away from Haymarket tram station and train station, so getting around Edinburgh and then heading out of town was very easy. The room was clean and modern, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good as well. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again if and when I'm back in Edinburgh and would highly recommend it as a good, cheaper option.

Dear Camchappers, Thank you for leaving us such an amazing review, it means a lot to us. We are really happy that you enjoyed your stay. As you correctly mentioned, the hotel has a number of advantages which make it so convenient. The first one is the location as it only takes 15 minutes to get to the city center and public transport is easily accessible from the hotel. The second one is our modern rooms which have everything for a comfortable stay including mood lights, Hypnos beds, power showers, and flat-screen TVs. Finally, our Brekkie is brilliant as it has a wide variety of pastries, porridge, and yogurts as well as fresh coffee or tea which help to start a day perfectly. It would be a pleasure for us to have you back in the near future. Kind regards, Luca

819658376 Booked a room for November 20th as myself and my wife were attending a concert. Unfortunately we both tested positive for COVID and our isolation period was up to Sunday the 21st. I contacted the hotel to ask about a refund or changing the date of our stay but was refused. For the next few days I messaged the hotel to ask if there was anything they could do. They were terribly sorry but said no, there would be no refund and there was no way they could change the date. I then messaged the hotel to inform that we couldn't afford to lose £160 over this and we would just come on the 20th after all and wear masks and be very careful. Amazingly, I received a phone call from the duty manager of the hotel almost instantly offering me a change of date! I was told I would have to choose another date so that my booking for the 20th November would not go down as a no-show. I changed it to the 20th of December. I then received an email with the booking details for my new date that came with the option to cancel for free as it was a new booking. Obviously I cancelled it straight away and received a full refund. I will rebook my stay with a different hotel after they fobbed me off for the best part of a week that they couldn't alter my booking. Very poor customer service indeed.

Stayed one night in the cosy twin room with window. It's really small, probably the smallest room I have ever stayed in. It's clean, has no tea/coffee, kettle in the room. So if you want just a room for the night then this is fine. Breakfast is £9 per person and is a basic continental. I'm so glad I didn't go for it. Staff are nice.

Dear Beckycrawford, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback about Point A Haymarket. Hearing that our staff was pleasant and nice during your stay makes us feel proud of our job. We are sorry to know that the room size and room facilities were not as you expected. The rooms at Point A hotel are designed in a compact style which includes all you need for a short stay in the city. You are right, we don't have a kettle in the room but our bar is open 24h for any hot drinks and hot water for your own tea if you would like to. Our brekkie is usually much appreciated by guests as we have different pastries hot served and several options in fruits and yogurts attentively prepared by our breakfast staff, cheese, jam, and boiled eggs. We hope that next time you will change your mind and try it! Kindest regards, Erica

Negatives: the double room is incredibly small, ridiculously small. So small that the two of us had nowhere to store our bags and hence always tripping over them. There was no seating in the room apart from the bed. We had to turn side ways to squeeze passed each other to get to the bathroom; to walk by the bottom of the bed, let alone get to the window...oh and the window is small too. I can image the rooms with no window (which is an option) must feel like a cell. There is no drink making facilities provided. The breakfast buffet does not contain hot food. Is this just me being picky? Well it was £210 for one night. That is expensive; too expensive for the size of room and amenities. Especially compared to other major cities in the UK. If you were using this room for more than one night, for example, for a longer stay, the feeling of claustrophobia would be great. The good points: clean, comfortable bed, central. Overall disappointed and left feeling ripped off.

Hello Gavagcla, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Our rooms are indeed compact, yet still modern and accessorized with everything you need for a perfect city break. A powerful shower, comfy beds a wall desk and a foldable chair are also provided in each room. For a touch of fun, there's our mood lighting. Unfortunately, we do not have tea and coffee facilities in the room, however, our bar is open 24/7 also providing free hot water. Our brekkie is based on cold products, cereals, granola, muesli, lots of fresh fruit, yogurts, and pastries, savory options such as bread and cheese, boiled eggs, and ham parcels. Our rates are always changing also based on events ongoing in the city, it is best to book away from these dates if not visiting for that specific reason. Joining our A-List on our website you will have discounted rates and juicy discounts around the hotel. We hope you will give us another chance in the future. Kindest regards, Luca
