the owner welcomed us very politely and explained how to enjoy the staying (bus, location, map, timetable) and how to use all utilities. Breakfast was very neatly settled everyday, very clean. Only seven mins to supermarket, the bus stop from Edinburgh station was right in front of the house. Would love to stay again. Thank you!

Wifi is spot on and very fast great for looking up local info. On a busy street but you don't hear the traffic as it's such a cosy place to stay. almost 100% soundproof also has a kitchenette area for heating food and dining if thats your thing. From start to finish this was a great hassle free stay for...

Great breakfast at a lovely guesthouse. Clive, Chris and Myintsu are all lovely and welcoming people. Though the guesthouse is located at a bit of a distance from the centre, the magnificent Edwardian style place does make up for it. The Burmese statuettes and paintings are also very pretty. The lack of reception does make it hard for those without...

I unfortunately stayed only one night but it was an easy walk (or bus ride) to anything you might want to experience in Edinburgh, New and Old Town. The room had everything you could need, it was clean and had a lovely view. The included breakfast was delicious, served in a quaint dining area with access to the outside to...

Located in New Edinburgh at the bottom of a hill. Easy to walk everywhere. Loved having a fridge right in the room. Small grocery store very close by. The full Scottish breakfast in the morning was amazing. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was in Rm 7 located on the main floor at the front of the house. The...

We give 3,5 points to Mingalar which is an old town house in a nice neighborhood in the new town. Not exactly centrally located but with good public transport connections. On arrival a v-e-r-y thorough introduction to the city's tourist attractions. Might yet be could idea to enquire first, if the traveler is actually in need of this information. We...

Mingalar is a great hotel conveniently located in the "New Town" of Edinburgh. There are many good restaurants in the area and it is actually a short walk or bus (if you are lazy) to the Old Town. The Botanical Gardens is also nearby. Chris gave a very extensive introduction to the hotel and to Edinburgh in general. He showed...

Stayed for 2 nights with freinds had the 2 beautiful rooms right next to the front door. Chris gave us a very informative welcome which gave us a head start navigating around Edinburgh. Both mornings our breakfast was cooked to perfection with sausages to die for. Very clean and in a great location. The only slight issue I had was...
