Great location was near train station very clean large beds ,rooms basic but ideal for what we needed very helpful and friendly staff arrived early but room was ready so we were given the key, will definitely return .

Didn't hear about Christmas markets but this Travelodge is across the road from the famous Balmoral hotel

The hotel isn’t that far from the castle about a mile but I would say Edinburgh isn’t flat so be prepared
