This a beautiful old style hotel. From the very friendly check in to the attentive dining room staff it can't be faulted. We received a free upgrade to a huge suite, 2 large queen beds and a huge bathroom. Highly recommended

The hotel was clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and helpful and my dog seemed to Enjoy his stay there too. The room they gave us was a ground floor room which made having a dog a bit easier. The breakfast is okay but they are small portions for the price.

I really like this place. Well located, in a quiet neighbourhood but close to the city centre. Clean and spacious rooms with a view. But the best features of this place are the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and the ample breakfast buffet. If you book early like we did, you can find great rates for this hotel.

After booking a night stay for my Wife's Birthday we looked forward to enjoying what had been described on the website, although I had not advised the Bonham of this event. But after reading their claims of service and the quality of the rooms I felt this un required. On arrival, we were courteously advised to park in the correct...

Just returned from this lovely hotel. Set in the west end it's in a lovely quiet location but still within easy walking distance of the castle/princes street area. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. We chose to have breakfast in bed a couple of mornings which was nice and reasonably priced. The staff are great and we were treated to...

We got married at the Bonham early March 2017. From the first showing a year earlier and during the course of the last 12 months our allocated wedding co-ordinator (Hana) was just fantastic: she was very approachable, we felt we really could ask her as many questions as we wanted / needed and she always tried to accommodate our requests...

We had the chance to find a room in this hotel, it's great for a weekend with your lover. The hotel is a well-decorated Victorian town house, in a real quiet area. Plan a 10/15 min walk if you're going to the shopping streets, and 20/25 min to the Royal Mile and the Castle. Good choice!

I stayed here only one night. My room was a little quirky ups an down to bathroom. There are no drink making facilities in my room which I think is poor. The place is a little tired. It is down a very quiet street which as a single woman I did not like when walking home at night. Breakfast average...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
