It's right in the middle of all attractions, in a couple of minutes you can be anywhere. Otherwise it does the job, it's not ultra luxury or I don't know what facilities, but you don't go to Edinburgh to stay in your hotel room, get out there, it's awesome! Nice staff, Alan was lovely and the girls in the restaurant...

Lovely room with a great view and everything was spotless. However, the bathroom smelled of drains which was off putting but management assured us that the problem would be dealt with promptly. Would definitely go again.

It was fine. No more, no less. Agreed the décor is outdated and really quite shabby in places, but this doesn't take away from the functionality that is essentially a building with warm rooms and running water. Location is a strong point - a minutes walk from the train station so no lugging luggage around the city centre up those...

Hotel was in a great location just a minutes walk to the Royal Mile and 2 minutes walk to the train station. Hotel could do with a little updating but for the price you pay and it's location it is a compromise we could live with.

For location and price in Edinburgh cannot be beaten. Very comfy beds. Great if arriving by train, outside does not look anything special its a modern building but the rooms have large windows with great views over tje city if you get the right room.

My husband and I paid a flying visit to Edinburgh for the weekend staying at The Jury's Inn for one night only. We were on the 7th floor and the views were stunning. The room was fine. Very clean and suitable for our needs. The breakfast was excellent and included everything you could want. The service was excellent from reception...

I've just stayed in the Jury's Inn Edinburgh for the 4th time for a short business trip. The location near Waverley Station and with easy access to Prince's Street and the University coupled with excellent value makes this an easy choice. The older rooms are clean and very practical. They are refurbishing some rooms but I haven't yet stayed in...

We visited Edinburgh for a few days to get away...the hotel looked lovely on the internet and was conveniently located to all the attractions we wanted to see, and for a reasonable price which was why we booked it for our 3 night stay. The hotel staff were friendly, our room was a comfortable size, the decor was a bit...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
