I had an amazing stay at the Knight Residence. I visited Edinburgh for a business trip but came a bit earlier to enjoy the city. As a solo traveller, I'd like a private, secure and convenient place to stay during my trip and I was lucky enough to find this place. I stayed at a studio on the ground floor... More

Once again excellent stay in these wonderful luxury apartments. Loving the new duvets in the bedroom. Only grumble I would have is that the pillows are too soft for us - we prefer a firmer pillow. Wonderful staff who are always on hand but certainly not intrusive but are there to answer any questions and help. Remember you from previous... More

On arrival we were changed to a larger 3 bed apart instead of the 2 separate apartments we had initially booked and after being rescued from the playing up (then broken down lift) the staff were very helpful in carrying our bags up to the 4th floor for us and couldn't apologise enough for us having no lift to use... About 2 1/2 years ago, my sister and I took a trip across Ireland and the UK. We chose to stay at The Knight Residence during our time in Edinburgh, and it turned out to be our favorite hotel of the entire stay. Naturally, when we began planning a trip with our parents to Iceland and the UK that included... More

Stayed here for a girlie weekend, there were 7 or us between 2 apartments. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, the lift was playing up when we were there but Charlie carried our cases up for us. Apartment were spotless and we equipped, welcome basket had more than enough cereals, tea, coffee, butter and jam for our stay as well... More

The Knights Residence is an excellent serviced apartment ideally located to the south of the castle near to grassmarket. Parking inside was very reasonable and we fly well looked after by all the staff that worked there. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and there was plenty of space for 4 people. With a Sainsbury's around the corner for any... More

We had a two bedroom apartment for five nights. The apartment was spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The beds were comfortable, the rooms quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The property is located very near supermarkets, theaters, shopping, restaurants, pubs, and tourist attractions. It is a nice neighborhood in which to walk... We stayed in November 2016 and were greeted by the lovely Chris. He gave us a full tour of the apartment, and explained all amenities. We'd had a long trip from York and were delighted by the welcome basket of cereal, bread, tea, coffee, milk, etc. The two bedroom apartment was perfect for a longer stay. Good location, with lots... Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
