Wonderful stay at the Roseate from beginning to end. Beautiful hotel, close to train station and walking distance to shops. The room was thoughtfully decorated, the bed was comfortable, and we had a view of a beautiful church. The staff went above and beyond and made us feel welcome. We really enjoyed the restaurant and bar, and the food was delicious. We are looking forward to staying at the Roseate on our next trip to Edinburgh.

Hotel's Favourite
We could not say enough about this hotel in the west end of Edinburgh. While the loveliness of the lobby, the bar and restaurant, and the rooms made our stay comfortable and hospitable, the people made the stay! From the time we walked in the door to the saying of our goodbyes, each person treated us like friends and not just guests. A special shout out goes to Joanna, Claire, Eva, Ruby, Mikey , and Chris. Thank you all for making our first and certainly not last trip to Edinburgh and your hotel the best in every way.

This is a lovely hotel (room decor and bathroom were lovely) in close proximity to the stadium, however there was one snag with the room we were allocated. We of course paid a ridiculous price for the room as it was the night of the Beyoncé hotel (how hotels can charge double or triple the amount is disgusting) but this would have been for all hotels/accommodation across the city. But the main issue for me was our room lead directly onto the lobby right next to the front door. When we got into the room we could see people sitting and drinking yards away from our large window. The hotel allows guests/customers to sit far too close for them to see into the room and for them to see me getting ready and trying to relax in my room. The building is how it is and perhaps those front rooms we not suitable for any other purpose but there was zero privacy, not great for the price paid for the room (c.£344), the price excluded breakfast too. Because the room was where it was you can hear staff setting the breakfast room (mainly cutlery clattering then voices) in the early hours of the morning. Would I stay here again? Only if we had a different room and paid a reasonable price.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. All of the staff are outstandingly good - very friendly, attentive and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We had some lovely meals in the restaurant and the bar, and scones with jam and cream in the garden. The hotel is about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport and about a 30 minute walk to the city centre. The frequent bus and tram services make getting around very easy. There's plenty to see and do in the lovely city of Edinburgh. We hope to return again soon.

My sister-in-law and I had a wonderful stay at the Roseate for three nights. This felt like staying in a rich relative's home. We loved the traditional decor with old photographs, wainscoting, lovely furniture, and beautiful appointments. The service was awesome (with special shout-outs to Mikey, Chris and Lauren). Our special requests ("can you serve us dinner outside?"; "can we order the children's breakfast?") were always greeted with "of course" and "what a delightful idea". The meals were yummy and the cocktails were delicious! Our only criticisms: a shower that just would not obey our commands - which Mikey tried mightily to fix at 8:30 one evening - and lots of stairs. This latter criticism is not something they can fix - and something we learned to expect in Scotland. Don't hesitate to ask the staff to help with lugging luggage. This hotel is under new management and it deserves a visit for certain!

This boutique hotel is a GEM! The location is excellent! It was very easy to navigate the city from the location. The rooms were very clean and cozy. The towels and linens were of high quality. I don't know how the hotel smells like Scotland, but it does! THE STAFF WAS AMAZING! Ellish, Ruby, Chris, Claire and JoAnne ( all of them, really) made our stay even better! The breakfast and all the meals were very very good. All of our tours could be arrange by this excellent group of people.

There are so many nice things to say about the Roseate Hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland. For us it starts with the ease of getting there, the Airlink 100 bus from Edinburgh airport dropped us off just steps away from the welcoming front door. The charm and elegance of the hotel, the kindness of the staff; Every detail, from the morning breakfast with exquisite pastries to the magically reappearing shortbread cookies in our room and the evening cocktails served by Mikey and Chris (Ask them who makes the best Old Fashion?) they all contributed to the pleasures of our stay. We found the location of this hotel Ideal; there is within walking distance a path next to the Water of Leith, that takes you to Dean’s Village. Everything was within either walking distance or a bus ride away. By the time we left, the staff made us feel like we were leaving a part of our family behind. We look forward to our next visit.

Spent one night in the second building, Hampton House, which was really nice. We stayed in an Executive King room that was very spacious. Enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. Did not try the bar or restaurant for breakfast. The only negative was the sounds from cars on the street in our room that was facing the street, but that was not really a problem.
