Very clean lodging in a fantastic location with super friendly staff. Breakfast was a bit pricy, but it was quite good. Rooms were small for two people. Ideal for those at the university, near the castle, and the royal mile.

Hotel's Favourite
Check-in was seamless and quick. Very nice and helpful staff. We stayed on the 5th floor overlooking hunters square. Room was very quiet. Bed was really comfortable. Hotel is very central and just off the Royal Mile and close to both the Castle and Museum. It was wonderful to see the city coming back to life again. Now is a great time to visit. I really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and intend to come back in the near future. Very enjoyable experience.

I had a large group booking for this hotel that was very well catered for. Check-in was a little slow but there were so many key cards that it is to be expected. We had a coach dropping off the group and their luggage which was able to park just down the road around the corner to unload, not far at all. The rooms were on the smaller side but well furnished and perfectly central. You really do get more than you pay for.

Location wise, this hotel is right smack in the middle of the tourist-friendly Royal Mile and is close to many shops, eateries and attractions. Staff were friendly and polite. Our twin room is not exactly spacious with little wardrobe and shelf space, but it is clean and bright and has comfy bed and pillows, beverages, huge TV, Wi-Fi, and sufficient sockets. Bathroom is small but functional. At night, the street tours can be a tad noisy but bearable (as were the toilet plumping sounds). Breakfast is decent, and there's a bar in the lobby where you can get good beers. Though technically near, we took a cab to and fro to the Edinburgh railway station as there was no way we could lug our luggage through the "shortest route" which is a looong steep flight of stairs. Cabs are easily hailed to the hotel by the reception staff via just a button - cool that.

This was the only negative experience we had during our two weeks in Scotland. We arrived early (before check in) and we knew/were prepared to wait. (I had booked our room several months before and requested a view since it was our first trip to Edinburgh & Scotland and would be our last 2 nights in country) Staff was nice and offered us a lower level room. We declined and explained we would rather wait for a higher level with a view. Two hours later, they tell us our room is ready, with the best view available....it was on the FIRST FLOOR overlooking the street in front of the hotel. It was LOUD all night and no view other than the street below and building across the street. When I spoke with the front desk the next morning (same young man and young woman), I explained how disappointed we were and it was our first experience with the brand hotel. They basically shrugged their shoulders and said "okay". No apology offered. Nothing. We later heard them tell another guest there is no quiet room in the entire hotel. Do not recommend.

The location of this Ibis, just off the Royal Mile, is perfect for tourism. Staff are friendly and the hotel is clean. The food menu seems limited, but there are loads of food options, near the hotel. ALL status was recognised. Edinburgh bus station and Waverley Train station are within walking distance. Route 35 bus stops around the corner, on South Bridge road, providing service to Ocean Terminal, where the Royal Yacht Britannia is docked.

The staff here are all wonderful! Everyone has made me feel welcomed and comfortable, including Nataliya who spruced up my room! I also love the room arrangement, everything I need (comfy bed, desk, plenty of light) but nothing that I don’t.

This is a budget hotel so you get what you pay for. It's in an ideal location , the staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast was adequate. The hotel is in need of an update , our bedroom was basic , hot , with no air conditioning and the beds were really uncomfortable, however reception did supply a mobile fan . They will also let you have an umbrella if it's raining .There were stains on the hallway carpets, and some of the hallways were used for foldaway bed storage , which was not a good look.
