Two night stay booked direct with hotel was advertised as 'Twin room with View'. The view was a brick wall. This matched the fact that the phone in room did not work, headboards badly marked and shower attachment very loose. General grubby condition. Breakfasts on both mornings were cold. Complained to reception and dining room staff - no action. Formal complaint on return home resulted in no action but asked to 'Come back and let us show you that we can give you a superior experience'. I certainly would not pay again - to find out if they have made any improvements. When you advertise what you can't provide, is this not against the rules?

We stayed here for one night. Room was clean as was the hotel in general. Would recommend for value and cleanliness. The breakfast was very nice. The room was extra clean and the hotel was very accommodating towards our 3 year old son.

Would not recommend. The Hotel cancelled our room reservation last minute. Booked and confirmed on 1st Feb 2023 for 20th May 2023 and the hotel cancelled the room with no explanation on Wednesday 17th May. We are travelling to Edinburgh with a child and now have nowhere to stay due to huge event on at Murrayfield. The hotel is taking zero responsibility for their actions. They confirmed room is still available however the have doubled the price. Shocking customer service.

We had a nice big room, very tired the bathroom was fine. We were at a wedding reception with over one hundred people, the service was shocking, 30 mins waiting on drinks, they ran out of beer, the prices were ridiculous £6:50 for a pint, I pay £4:50 for the same beer in the town, all cheap brands, breakfast was ok, no eggs, ran out just like the beer.

spent one night bed breakfast and evening meal on my hotel break. the voucher was for £150 the room was£118. was told i would only get the £118 for the voucher. that was the start. no signal on tv in the room. was told at breakfast that the breakfast was not included they failed to read the voucher. i had to underline this for them. And still tried to charge us £25pounds in the morning. And infarct i was £31 in credit.it was embarrassing being questioned at every stage

The staff are friendly, the hotel is pretty. The food is good. The beds comfortable and room was quiet at night. The only bad thing is the carpets throughout the hotel need to be replaced. Especially in the rooms and hallways.

This is a 4 star hotel but the room we were given was barely 1 star. Very small dingy and overlooking a rubbish tip. Drinks very expensive and they tried to overcharge in the restaurant after getting the order wrong. Not very impressed although the public rooms were nice

Absolutely fantastic hotel. My wife and I have stayed here for the past 7 yrs & wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. The staff are always very attentive & helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The location is fantastic & the walk into Edinburgh via Morningside is very pleasant in itself. We've just returned & are already planning our next trip there (room 208)

Had an enjoyable stay at Braid Hills, staff very helpful and friendly, prices a bit steep at the bar. Room 304 very clean with cracking views over Edinburgh. Good car parking facilities and bus 11 only yards away
