Awful experience. Our room wasn’t properly cleaned. Offered a clean one. I checked we were going to be in the same room for a second night, as the hotel was very full, and assured this was the case. Front desk keen on explaining why nothing was there fault rather than expediting our check in. In the bar that night, staff continued to serve alcohol to a loud guest, still in building site workwear, even though he was so drunk he could barely stand up. Breakfast, which was pretty poor, is a total bun fight, because the restaurant closes at 9:30am, involving a long queue to find a table. On returning to the hotel on the second day, our room cards were deactivated, as the hotel insisted the booking was for a single night, despite me showing them them the confirmation. The issue took over 30 minutes to resolve, largely because front of house insisted on constantly repeating their excuses at length. Water pressure is poor, making for a pathetic shower. There was no shower curtain and the tiny bath took an age to fill. I shall not be using this hotel again and will avoid booking any Holiday Inn in future. For the money charged, I expected a far higher standard.

£200 per night for a twin room! Carpets were badly stained througout the room, windows were damaged where prevoius guests have clearly tried to yank the windows open s they can smoke out the window, lots of cigarette ends on the floor, litter bins overflowing in reception. Restaurant is horrendously overpriced for the quality of food being served from it. Ordered both mains and dessert as it was 8:30 and the kitchen shuts at 9pm. Pizza was ok, I had a cheeseburger which was hugely overcooked and the meat patty was rock hard around the edges, it is clearly a very very cheaply bought burger patty too. I complained to a member of staff when one eventually appeared, Who seemed very clueless when i asked how a simple meal like this could go so wrong, especially as the restaurant had only 3 tables with diners on! I settled for a magarita pizza. My dessert was then promptly presented to me before my replacement meal had come out. i had to send that back and get a new one for after my pizza had been given to me, pizza was overcooked but edible and i had given up with the hopeless waiting staff. I will not be booking a holiday inn again as you can actually get a better quality of room and service at a lower priced hotel chain. Not worth £200 for 1 night at all!

Welcoming staff on arrival. Rooms clean and warm. Bedding clean. Bathroom clean with good towels. Breakfast was good, toaster was typical hotel toaster, put through once, comes out very pale, put through again and it is burnt! Only niggle was the plug in sink, which made very loud "gurgling and dripping" noise which was a nuisance if bathroom used in the night. All in all a good stay.

Noisy air con can’t sleep with on as clatters and bangs, switch it off no heating, cooked breakfast very limited a and like warm, rooms very comfortable and spacious though bathroom could do with a revamp, cjhargable parking at £5 per day very unwelcoming also sneaky as the try to charge you an extra unnecessary £5 if you use the machine outside make sure to adjust your leaving time accordingly

I don't recommend this hotel. The place is dirty the room I stayed in had a big disgusting stain on the carpet. The window sills paint was dirty and the paint was flaking off them . They advertise a restaurant on site which it isn't if you like you're food cooked from frozen your ok . Not much choice on the menu. The cooked breakfast had a choice of 3 things scrambled eggs bacon or cumbernauld sausages the bacon was cold not sure about the rest of the food. The sheet on the bed was inside out. Dirty tables.

First time I’ve stayed here in a while and have to say it was a much better stay. Rooms had been modernised and mind had a walk in shower rather than a tiny bath , not sure if all rooms are updated but if you ask for walk in shower you will get a new room Location. Is good aside from a tricky junction outside where if travelling east it’s more awkward, nearly had a taxi come into the side of me. Retail park across the road Nice bar with some food options

Stayed one night as had a early appointment and must say I was pleased to have chosen this venue. Modern decor and the rooms were a decent size. Comfy bed. Pillows a bit hard. Bathroom small but coped. The highlight was the breakfast, plenty off choices. The bacon was as good as it gets. There’s a kfc and Sainsbury’s five minutes walk plus other outlets. There’s a £5 a night car park fee which I found annoying. Include it in the room rate. Would stay again next time in Edinburgh.

Arrived for an overnight in the holiday season - groups and families staying. I've been before and know breakfast is an unsupervised free for all; can't think the tourists would have appreciated the experience, though the bacon and scrambled egg are always fine. But tables weren't cleared promptly - I saw scrambled egg brushed off a table on to the floor by a staff member - the coffee machines ran out, and forks were in short supply: I ate my bacon etc with spoon and knife. Another mark of understaffing is the litter all round the building - very visible from the breakfast room too - but if the main bins are left open what should you expect? This hotel could be very good - it has been in the past - but seems currently struggling. Don't expect a restaurant experience in the evenings either unless you like pizza and burgers.

not the best experience, overnight stay for work, floor in room badly stained, smallest bath ever, food was wrong for both me and my colleague and two other people who were sitting close to us, we had to send ours back to get re-heated we waited so long, I'm not really too fussy but this was ridiculous as there were only half a dozen people in the restaurant for the evening meal, I have to say though the american guy who served us at the bar was great and extremely polite, wouldn't stay again though I'm afraid. Have to say though the view was great.
