We were looked after very well by Jubilee during our stay. She went above and beyond. We were checked in by Rhona who was every bit as friendly and personable as a receptionist should be! Special shoutout to Megan on the desk as well who was working really well under pressure checking in a large group and making sure everybody was getting the best experience! Fantastic breakfast and another shoutout to Sorina who was so accommodating with my requests All in all a wonderful experience and we will for sure be back!

We had a family birthday lunch followed by an overnight stay. Mal was excellent from arrival to departure, the hotel is very quirky and right in the centre of the City. Our room on the 9th floor was amazing , huge comfy bed and lots of space .The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly efficient and attentive, we will definitely be back , its a great place to celebrate with family and friends.

We had a fantastic meal in Chez Mal for our parents birthday. The staff were so accommodating of our party of 7. Service was very friendly and the food was absolutely fantastic. Pipping hot and delicious. We dined from the set menu 3 courses for £25 and it was fantastic value for money. The hotel itself was gorgeous and very clean, with funky modern decor. Cute wee break out area between restaurant and bar/reception to chill out before and after our meal. I would absolutely recommend Chez Mal and Malmaison and will be returning again soon.

We had a lovely meal to celebrate a family members special birthday. The staff were attentive and made us feel relaxed. The food was incredible, the mac n cheese was the best I've ever tasted 👌. Very reasonable price from the set menu. But great extra options from Al a carte. Lovely facilities and the birthday couple had a beautiful room with views over the Forth. Couldn't fault the team at Mal Edinburgh City Centre 👏

Our first visit and it was a lovely visit. Staff friendly and food was excellent. Our room was lovely and first impressions were good. Clean, well presented. Only looking closer it seemed like the room had not been used for a while. It was very dusty. The sun caught the dust in the air in the room and it was not good. We couldn’t open the windows or turn on air con, so propped the door open for some air flow. The bathroom towel rail and extractor were stuck on, so it was very warm. That aside, the shower was amazing and we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was amazing and service wonderful. The decor is wonderful and quirky. Thank you for a pleasant stay ☺️

My initial experience was pleasant. I was greeted by Helen who was so welcoming and instantly made you feel like an old friend! I was given clear directions to my room and managed to get settled in. The room was stifling hot when I first arrived, but I managed to work out how to turn the air conditioning on so the room did cool down eventually, but was unable to turn off the towel rail/underfloor heating in the bathroom. The water pressure of the shower wasn’t great, and there didn’t seem to be a facecloth in the room. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfy. Unfortunately the next member of staff I spoke with was not as helpful as Helen had been. After being out for the evening with some friends, I was a bit peckish in the early hours and phoned down to Reception to order something to eat (from the Night Bites menu, which is advertised to Residents as available when the Brassiere is closed). I asked for a cheese and ham toastie and was very abruptly told “no.” and the phone was put down on me! I called back, albeit a little speechless, and tried to argue my case that the small selection of food is available at all times. The man I spoke with told me the kitchen was closed and would open at 7am for breakfast, but this was still several hours away. I then mentioned that these items were available at all times, and he then changed his story to tell me there was no ingredients to make a cheese and ham toastie for me….. looking back I should’ve asked if I could come down to the kitchen and make it for myself if he was unwilling to do so! I made do with the biscuits from the coffee station but I was very confused by his unwillingness to assist me. All in all I had a great time in Edinburgh and the Night staff’s attitude won’t stop me returning to the hotel, I’ll just make sure to bring some snacks with me !…

We visited the Mal for 3 nights at the end of March for my partners birthday , so we treated ourselves to a suite , we had room 607. For what it cost I personally expected a bit more , it was basically a bedroom with a roll top bath in it and a separate bathroom, not much room to move around. We also had to live out of our suitcase for 3 nights , we had a wardrobe which also housed the safe , tea/coffee facilities and the iron & ironing board , no drawers !! There was a screwed up towel at the side of the bed & chocolate wrapper on show on top of the wardrobe ! Breakfast was a little limited but tasty which we had paid for for all 3 mornings but on check out was asked for the money for breakfast ? Parking is 5-10 min walk away & you get a discounted rate if you validate your ticket with reception. All in all had a lovely time in Edinburgh & hotel well situated but do feel a little disappointed.…

Stayed here for 2 nights on a city break travelling by rail. It's an excellent central location and is less than 5 minutes level walk from Waverley Street station, as well as there being some great restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very nice and comfortable. We didn't eat here on an evening as we had made prior arrangements however breakfast was excellent with full Scottish breakfast as good as any I have had in a long time. Thought drinks in the bar were expensive, but having said that Edinburgh as a city seems expensive. Would certainly return.

Thought I had booked this hotel but as it worked out had booked Malmaison Leith. Rhona on reception couldn,t have been more helpful, she called the other hotel, got my booking switched for no extra cost, booked me into the restaurant, clearly explained where I could park and even offered to take my bags to my room. Rhona's custoer care was excellent, thank you.

A lovely chilled weekend with my daughter to celebrate my 60th. Very different feel to the hotel, I particularly liked the red doors. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a few drinks in the bar which was lovely with the changing lights in the ceiling. Excellent pornstars, I had one every night. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The small birthday gift was delicious 🥰 A few suggestions for the room. I nearly forgot what I looked like it was so dark in there, perhaps think about lighting. Please put some bottles of water in the room. The room needs a set of drawers. We were in room 606. This being said, it did not detract from a hugely enjoyable weekend and these are just suggestions.
