A Scottish friend had recommended the Eyre Guest house, as he lives in the vicinity. We had some initial difficulty in reaching the Eyre Guest House to book the place because the telephone number on the website did not work. I had to book it through Priceline.com. So we initially booked a room at the Eyre Guest house and found...

I should have read more reviews and found out about the dreaded Room 8 before booking the single room. I didn't but it's good that you are. The room is very small, the single bed bows in the middle and the pillow was two old and flat pillows stuffed into one pillow case. I know it's a room for £30...

Hi, I'd just like to say room 8 is fine. I'm a single person visiting Edinburgh for the wkend. The room has tea/coffee facilities, tv & a very comfy bed. Enough hanging space available for a person on their own. It's about 15min walk back down to princes street. Plenty of breakfast on offer - cereal, toast & spreads, juices...

We spent a weekend in Edinburgh in September and stayed at the Ardenlee guest house. It was only ok, a good base for exploring the city as it was an easy 10 minute walk into town, or busses took you up the hill. The owner was really welcoming on arrival and we encountered very friendly staff throughout the visit. Our...

On arrival, the furnishings- window and bed linen were very faded and dated and the carpet in similar condition. There was an opened packet of biscuits, one of which was half eaten. This was a bedroom with a shared bathroom, but the bathroom was on the previous floor, a descent of 20 steep steps on a winding staircase to access....

The Ardenlee Guest House is in the New Town which is easy walking distance (10 mins) of Queen Street the main shopping area and the station but like everywhere in Edinburgh it is uphill! There is a bus service as an alternative that is close. It is in a beautiful Georgian building with high ceilings and has kept many of...

The staff were fantastic, friendly, polite, and efficient. The lady that was running the place in particular was a lovely person, really friendly, down to earth, super helpful and hardworking, and provided a great service overall. The place is very nice, good decor and atmosphere. The room we stayed in was excellent. Bigger than we were expecting, very nicely furnished,...

I give the Ardenlee Guest House an excellent rating because of its wonderful location and the very friendly and helpful staff. We felt extremely fortunate to end up in this hotel on our first visit to Edinburgh. It's a nice walk to the city center, but it's located out of the main tourist area (in the New Town), so the...

I stayed here from 19-21st June. I originally booked for the Eyre Guest house but in arrival the accommodation had changed to next door but one. I took a young person I work with for a break. Our room were large, but could have done with a little more attention to them. The toilet was noisy after flushing which went...
