Great hotel which definitely lives up to its 5* rating. All aspects of the hotel are beautiful - the pool/spa is lovely and breakfast is amazing. The room was very well appointed and bathrooms all done to the highest standard. All staff were extremely friendly and courteous. Food and drink are quite pricy but nothing less than I'd expect from...

We had a fabulous room with views of the castle. Very well appointed and comfortable. Walk in closet gave us plenty of storage. Hotel is located in the center of town so it is a good base of operation for touring. The hotel staff all knew our names within the first day.

Our room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was large and beautiful. The staff was helpful and the included breakfast had much to choose from. Walking distance to Waverly Station and the Royal Mile.

Regular residents here, and always made to feel so very welcome by all of the staff. Dump the BM at the front door, bags collected from the boot by Peter our favourite concierge, then straight to the cocktail bar for two Heinekens whilst they produce two Morello Mojitos. Service is always first class, rooms are always upgraded for us and...

Every person in the hotel is more than happy to help and go above and beyond with whatever the request is. They made our stay and event spectacular. The views from our hotel room over Ediburgh were amazing making the location perfect for us. Everything was immaculate, good quality and above what is expected.

Ladies - You know you are in a great hotel when the concierge will not only buy a curling iron for you and have it in your room when you arrive, he will go out again when it is not the right size & exchange it. As someone who travels a lot, that kind of service is truly impressive. But...

We stayed here for a weekend in September as part of a group of five women who were all celebrating a milestone birthday this year. Hence, we wanted to push the boat out and stay somewhere amazing. At just over £1100 for three nights excluding breakfast, we thought we'd found the perfect place. Alas, this was not to be the...

Stunning view from room, saw the most beautiful sunset with Scots monument and castle in sight. Good service all the way from entering the doors to room service to breakfast. Expensive, but worth the experience.

Great venue for business conferences and a great stay. We were here in September 2015 and as a venue for business events it is great. Tradition event spaces but very functional. As guest the hotel has everything you need; great spa/gym/pool, good restaurants and bars and modern rooms. Thanks

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
