Had a beautiful stay on the ocean mist for a birthday weekend was greeted with a warm friendly welcome in reception check in was straight forward and we where shown to our room the russel hobbs which was absolutely outstanding with a free standing copper bath The castle view bar is stunning we sat and had cocktails the bar staff where very welcoming!! Our overall stay was fantastic and we will be returning very soon!! Would highly recommend the ocean mist

Spent one night with family for a special birthday. It was fabulous! Everything was perfect from the friendly staff, to the delicious cocktails, to the comfiest bed ever! We all hope to return before too long.

Great place to stay from check in to departure .The accommodation is bespoke with a nautical theme and plenty of room. The staff are very friendly and have time for you and they are always there to help. The bar is very relaxing and is a great place for a chat meeting people from all over the world. The continental breakfast is great also. Walking in to this hotel gives you a warm feeling and you will leave refreshed. Amazing Place to stay. Will be back again.

Excellent service and well-equipped and clean room. When I first checked in, there was a strong Lysol smell but it dissipated in a few hours. There’s no windows in the room but the air ventilator works well and the room isn’t stuffy. Despite the nice decor, bedding, and other amenities, most of the rooms are still submerged in water and pretty dim. Overall a good stay although I’m not sure if it justifies the price.

Hi uspork, Thank you very much for writing a review about your stay at the Ocean Mist. We are happy to hear that your stay was overall satisfactory, however I am a bit disappointed that we did not meet your expectations completely. As per the nature of the vessel, the lower deck rooms are submerged and it is nothing we can do about it, as it is a boat hotel. The lights in the rooms are dim and can be increased by turning the dial to the right but rest assure that we will check our lights to look for improvements. Regarding our fares for the rooms, we are very competitive with the current offers in the city, sometimes having prices lower than most of hotels in Edinburgh. I hope that this negative aspects of your stay will turn into positive ones the next time you visit us. Once again, thank you very much for your time and we hope to see you again soon. Best regards,

From the moment we arrived, we have been shown such hospitality by the staff - nothing was too much for them and they seem to be genuinely happy and love this boat, knowing the history. Shout out to Tony at breakfast, she was so helpful and made some fabulous recommendations! Add on top the great little extras such as bottled water, lovely toiletries and good quality coffee etc… This was our first time visiting the Ocean Mist but certainly won’t be the last. A great place for us to go for a cheeky night or two away from home and the kids to relax and unwind.

Loved every minute of being here. The decor is done to a very high standard and it’s impeccably clean. We had drinks in the bar and they were excellent with a wide variety to choose from. Our only regret is that we didn’t book more than one night!

This is a beautiful ship which has been turned into an elegant and atmospheric hotel. The attention to detail is amazing and the rooms and bar have a great feel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely and beautifully decorated.

Brilliant stay on this lovely converted 100 year old boat. Its recent conversion to a hotel has been done to the highest standards yet maintaining the integrity of the boat's origins. Our room was bigger than you would find in many hotels with ensuite as good as it gets. The bar was cozy and the bartender knows so much about making superb cocktails. Continental breakfast is included in the price with loads of choices. Have stayed in many hotels in Edinburgh and this is as good as it gets at a reasonable price. Also the location on the Water of Leith adds an additional dimension with lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Such a wonderful experience! Beautiful cabin, luxurious bed linen and toiletries. Spotlessly clean. I emailed ahead and mentioned it was my partners 60th birthday surprise and when we arrived the room was decorated with balloons and a banner. He was also given a voucher for two glasses of bubbly in the bar (we don’t drink so didn’t use it, but what a lovely gesture). Breakfast was plentiful and excellent quality. The lovely lady who served us each day gave the best customer service, nothing was too much trouble. The gentleman on reception was also attentive and efficient. A completely trouble free stay and we will definitely return! Thank you so much! Faultless!

Our first visit to this lovely hotel, and it's just such a relief that the boat has been so beautifully restored and fitted out after so many years of sitting there looking so sorry for itself. A really super job has been done. The hotel is surprisingly luxurious, everything very solid, and lovely materials and detailing everywhere (eg cork wall finish in the splendid art deco bar, gorgeous tiling in the bathrooms, beautiful bed linens). Service from everyone was friendly and good-natured. The head barman (Portuguese, didn't get his name unfortunately) and his colleague William deserve particular mention for their expertise and charming service. Gordon on front desk also gave a warm welcome. Lastly, the continental breakfast included with the room, served up in the bar, was an excellent addition. All in all a wonderfully relaxing environment and we will definitely return as soon as we can.…
