Just spent 4 nights at Gifford House and we can't recommend highly enough.A warm welcome from Margaret, a lovely, spotless room with great facilities (incl. DAB radio & wi-fi) and a wonderful view. At breakfast a great choice is on offer and nothing is too much trouble for David. A short 10 minute walk gets you to the nearest shops...

Very warm welcome from Margaret on arrival, room was spotless and very spacious. Hearty breakfast and lovely to chat to David. Bus stops very handy outside to get into the city centre. Would recommend the Gifford to everyone and will definitely stay there in the future should we need to stay in Edinburgh again!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time...

Charming period property which is very well maintained. Could not fault the room - very quiet. Friendly hosts who serve an excellent breakfast. WiFi works perfectly in the whole house. Highly recommended, I cannot fault the amenities or the service.

Went to Edinburgh recently to take in the Edinburgh Tattoo and really lucked out with this family run guest house. We stayed for four days and enjoyed great hospitality. Margaret and David went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible arranging a bus tour of the highlands for us which was absolutely spectacular, great location...

The owner was very nice and friendly; room is clean and comfortable with TV, though the reception wasn't too good so it breaks quite easily; good breakfast and very quiet. The only thing is it is not that close to city center and you need to walk a bit far to find food when it's late.
