For the price the hotel, room as everything you need, bedding fresh, coffee, milk, sugar, tea, cookies, shampoo and body wash, lovely fresh fluffy towels, and great bed to sleep in, excellent nights sleep, staff are very friendly, lovely and helpful and there 24/7 if you need anything. I would definitely stay again

Loved the theming, the decor and the location. It's a lovely old building. The bedding was Fresh and clean. The was a patio door to the yard and it all felt very spacious. Would definitely recommend to everyone. There's a bus outside that runs straight into the Center.

Pretty basic, they say parking is possible but neglect to say a few blocks away, we rented 3 executive double suites for our family, supposed to be identical but all vastly different in size and quality. Our room was excessively hot turning all radiators off made no difference. Advised our bed room was sitting on top of the hotel boiler...

We arrived late afternoon for our planned stay of two nights. On arrival, the staff member greeted us warmly and we were asked for upfront payment of £20 more than my email confirmation amount. She promised that she would phone and try and sort it out, to which she did. On arrival in our room on the 2nd floor, we...

Starting with the positive: the hotel is located near the centre of Edinburgh and also close to the Murrayfield stadium. The heating and hot water in the rooms worked very well. They had some lovely bits of furniture in the hotel. Now for the not so good: on arrival we were overcharged. The booking confirmation we received listed one price,...

The room was large and comfortable, the heating could be adjusted, the shower - slightly erratic but mostly ok, parking in adjacent streets and no charge at the weekend, plenty of good eating options - I recommend Skerries next door (quite upmarket) and Sainsbury's café (the other side of Murrayfield - terrific Scottish breakfast!)

Spent one weeknight in a petit double room which cost £42 and we were quite impressed. Room was bigger than expected with pleasant decoration and was clean enough. Bathroom needs upgrading but I feel that this was reflected in the rate and it was nice to have an ensuite as opposed to a shared bathroom. Only complaint is that the...

We were sad to leave. The Excellent Breakfast. Fresh Fruit, Fresh Bread, Freshy brewed Coffee.Fresh Pati, Fresh Cheeses and hams from all over the word. The Service was WOW. From John the Manager to Eilidh, Nathan the Reception Staff to Callum, Lee, Kinrad and Joanne. All cheerful, all willing too do whatever service a guest needed. From phoning Taxi's to...

Just stayed here for 2 nights. First impressions were ok, staff member who booked us in was very nice and even gave us the £1.60 bus fare should we want to go back into town. Room was okish! No coffee, hardly any sugar, no milk, no teaspoons. I did ask on the way out for teaspoons and when we got...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
