Great location with short walk to city center. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. We were given a wheelchair accessible room without needing the accommodation. The shower was ground level, had an accessible shower chair and the sink was lowered. Breakfast was some of the best we have had on this trip through Scotland and Ireland.

The location of this hotel is excellent, right bang in the middle of Princes Street with views of the castle. Check in was fast and really friendly. Ashley was excellent, and managed to give us a room (615) with a gorgeous view of the castle. The room was great for the price - clean, comfortable, good air conditioning and great...

We had initially booked another hotel, but when I saw the location of this Premier Inn on a map we changed our reservation. I'm so happy we did. The hotel is right across from the Edinburgh Castle, close to the main bar/pub strip called Rose Street and perfectly located to walk The Royal Mile. On top of the great location,...

We stayed here overnight and really have nothing but praise for the wonderful friendly service we received. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was well priced. The location was handy for all major spots- albeit a fair walk-and only fifteen minutes walk from Waverley Station. Edinburgh was a wonderful treat and Premier Inn was an excellent base.

We have previously stayed at the Premier Inn on Princes Street. Again, this was a great stay, with no complaints whatsoever! The location is second to none with stunning views of Edinburgh Castle. The standard wifi is fine, and perhaps not the quickest but it does the job. We would have no hesitation staying again.

This was my second visit to this particular hotel and although it was a bit pricey during the Festival (but where isn't) the staff, comfort and location cannot be beaten. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Breakfasts are fresh, warm and eat till your full. Would definitely return.

Big, comfy bed in a big, quiet room. Good Wifi, great staff, perfect location. A superb hotel for a modest price. Absolutely would stay there again without hesitation. The only downside is that the bathtubs are raised off the floor with a very rounded bottom which caused a slip and fall incident. Skip the hotel restaurant, it is quite unnecessary...

I have nothing bad to say about my stay here. The staff member who greeted us (Chris) was very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean and quiet, and the beds very comfortable. We actually stayed two nights in Edinburgh but only one at the Premier Inn. I vastly preferred the Inn to the other (much more expensive) hotel. If...

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
