We have just returned from a city break in Edinburgh and stayed at the Apex Grassmarket Hotel. The hotel is in a fabulous location -- just a four minute walk to the castle and very close to lots of fun and interesting things, including the...More

Welcome was fantastic. Chatty Receptionist enquired re our Birthday Celebration visit and upgraded our room. The room was much nicer than the room we had Xmas some years ago. Really enjoyed the room and our overall stay. Thanks for a most enjoyable visit.

Very well located hotel at the Grassmarket. Rooms are dated and not very well maintained (closure window, door doesn't close properly) NO air conditioning. Continental breakfast is poor. Floor in restaurant wasn't very clean.

the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Depends on how fit you are and how much luggage! It’s easily workable if you are used to walking around cities etc but the road leading up to the castle is steep. We managed it with a toddler buggy etc.

They did have additional parking around the corner, Nothing about parking here was convenient or inexpensive. There were maybe 20-25 spaces total depending on the activities in the lot on the day you are there.
