I cannot rate this B&B highly enough. Our host Ursula looked after us like a mum would (I hope she does not mind me saying that!) and she could not have done more to make our stay comfortable. She gave us towels to take to the swimming pool, fresh milk for our tea and coffee in the room and even...

I spent 2 nights at the Ardgarth and had a lovely relaxing time. The location in Portobello is very quiet and is just a few minutes walk from the Firth of Forth shoreline. The room and the bed were extremely comfortable with a lovely selection of teas, a teapot and some totally awesome butterscotch biscuits. Ursula made us feel very...

I have MS and was recommended to stay at Ardgarth Guest House as they have won awards for their access for disabled visitors. It did not disappoint and we had a very enjoyable stay. We were made to feel very welcome by Ursula, nothing was too much trouble, and she was very helpful with suggestions on how to get around...

Portobello is a great place to stay in Edinburgh. Ardgarth is a charming house and Ursula could not have been more helpfull. Breakfast was good, delicious bacon, homemade marmalade, and a good range of choices. We stayed in the accessible room and the bathroom was well thought out and ideal for wheelchair use. We found the bedroom a little on the...

I spent 4 nights at Ardgarth Guest House in late September 2015. It was a real home from home. I received a warm welcome from Ursula and was shown to my room on the top floor which had wonderful views. The room was immaculate and had everything I could possibly need during my stay. The breakfast room was delightful, with...

Booked two rooms for weekend stay with family. Lovely accommodation and Ursala and her staff could not do enough for us. Short walk to beach at Portobello, and with beautiful weekend weather it was like being in the Mediterannean. Good choice of food for breakfast and Ursual keen to ensure that all dietary needs were met. Was also helpful in...

Would not hesitate to recommend this guest house, and would love to stay again. Just minutes from the beach in Portobello, free parking and good bus service into the city. Ursula and the staff are so friendly and welcoming, that we felt at home immediately. Nothing is too much trouble, and the rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable. Great attention...

Ursula and her team are simply the best. No detail is left unattended. One example - we had a very early morning flight from Edinburgh; Ursula arranged for a taxi (negotiating a very favorable rate for us), and when we awoke at 4AM, hanging on the outside of our door were chocolate croissants and other breakfast "treats" that we had...
