Detailed Reviews
I recently stayed here on a 2 night get away with my partner and honestly cannot fault our stay. The staff were pleasant and welcoming from the minute we arrived right throughout our stay. The room was spacious. Both the interior and exterior decor of the hotel was faultless. They have implemented great policies to keep both guests and staff safe during their stay due to COVID which made us feel very comfortable. Our room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a great selection of free tea and coffee available in the room along with a great selection of beverages in the mini bar which were all very reasonably priced. We were able to park in the car park to the side of the property next to the bar. Included in the price of our stay was a complimentary breakfast bag which contained a great selection of breakfast options. The hotel is situated in a great location and has great bus links just outside of the property to get to the centre, however, the centre is also within walking distance. We were very pleased with our stay here and are already looking at booking to stay again. Thank you to lovely receptionists who were on hand to answer any queries we had.

We had a lovely stay at the Murrayfield Hotel, which of course is the best location to stop at if you’re here for the rugby which is almost a stonesthrow, or should that be, a conversion, away from the hotel.
We had booked a luxe room which was large and very comfortable. A warm welcome on arrival we were shown to the room which was in an (almost) adjacent house to the hotel. Parking was available on site and in our camper van without height restrictions.
The front of the hotel has the busy main road adjacent to it, but with our room (no.7) facing the rear there was no traffic noise.
The bed is HUGE! And importantly very very comfortable.
Facilities in room include room service, walk in rain shower (and hand held for those not wishing to get their hair wet), toiletries, plenty of towels and bathrobes, hair dryer, GHD straighteners, respectably priced mini bar, safe, tv (hidden in a fantastically large mirror), teas, nespresso style coffee machine, bottled water, wine glasses and wine bottle holder, bring and Aux cable to plug your phone into the HiFi speaker system.
We stayed for 2 nights and the bed was turned down whilst we were out as well as stock replenished that we had used.
I felt that the review didn’t justify a full 5* sadly as the food side of the experience didn’t meet the standards we had in the room and with the staff of the hotel.
I am aware that the chef had a personal problem on our first night. We had a light afternoon snack of average quality and breakfasts again were disappointing. Coffee wasn’t great and whilst it’s only a small thing we had to ask twice for toast, yet still didn’t receive it. The food was ok, just not “great”.
Location wise it’s easy to walk into the city (about 25mins) or you could probably catch the bus or tram (there’s a stop within about 10mins walk that takes you to the Haymarket station).
Overall, a lovely experience in Edinburgh and we would probably return to the Murrayfield again.

Another lovely stay at our favourite hotel in Edinburgh. We checked in on 28th January, following a Bereavement at home, my daughters and son had phoned ahead to the hotel and had arranged for a lovely bouquet of flowers, wine and chocolates to be left in our room as a surprise for our arrival. This was all attended to by the staff and Manager.
What a lovely surprise when we opened the door, my daughters wanted to make me smile, which after crying.. it did make me smile.
The room we had was gorgeous as usual, and the beautiful soaps in the bathroom smell beautiful.
We dined in the Bothy restaurant in the evening and the food was fantastic as was the service.
Breakfast was also super and the waitress was really lovely.
Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff, and a special thanks to the staff for arranging my surprise.
Already looking forward to our next visit in December.
Wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a friends birthday. We’d booked the cosy rooms which obviously were small but were beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. I loved the touches like the bed being high enough to put the cases underneath. The hotel felt really cosy and had a lovely atmosphere. On the Saturday night Scotland were playing in the rugby so the bar was packed and buzzing. We are at the hotel that night so the service was a little slow but it wasn’t a problem.
The hotel is opposite Murrayfield stadium, on the main road to the airport and it’s only around £6 for an Uber to the centre. We had a fantastic weekend and would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is in a great location, 30 minute walk into city centre. Check in smooth and friendly. The rooms are good value for money, if a little on the dark side, we had a room at the back with not much natural light and a flickering ceiling light, the bed was comfortable and clean, however the pillows were a bit lumpy.
We did not eat in the hotel but ordered cocktails and a snack which took 25 min to arrive, the restaurant and outside tables were busy on a nice evening and the waiting staff seemed overwhelmed and a little flustered, this did not spoil our visit. I would definitely return in the future.

We recently had a 3 night stay at the Murrayfield hotel over the bank holiday weekend. Free parking is available onsite however we got the last space and arrived only an hour after check in. We stayed in an executive double room. We found the beds to be very comfortable and the rooms were spacious but had poor lighting (especially when doing my makeup for a wedding!) and it was always very hot in the room. We put the fan on every night and opened the windows slightly but still felt quite warm. We also had to make sure the blinds were shut as the windows were overlooked by other guest rooms into our bathroom and bedroom! We had breakfast (£10 per person) which was lovely but took 1.5 hours to arrive and made us very limited on time getting ready for the day, but perhaps this was just a one off as there was only 2 staff members working. We found all the staff to be helpful and friendly. There is also a good WiFi speed. The hotel itself is situated about a 25-30 min walk into the city centre, we didn’t mind the walk but did get a taxi on one evening. Ubers are easy to order at any time. On our final evening we went down to the hotel bar to order some drinks at 9.30pm but were told the bar is closed but we could take the drinks to our room which we did. Although we couldn’t really understand why we weren’t allowed to drink them downstairs as everywhere else we had been was last orders at 10pm. Overall we did have an enjoyable stay at the Murrayfield hotel but the few issues mentioned means I can’t give 5 stars.

The hotels location was perfect! The receptionist was lovely and very knowledgeable. The rooms was small but cozy and the bathroom was clean. The food was very tasty and checking in late because of a late flight was not a problem and checking out later was also fine. It’s just a ten pound charge for every hour you stay late allowed up to 1pm and leaving luggage in the hotel after we checked out was also great so we didn’t have to lug them around the city while we passed time waiting for our flight home!

The reception area looks more like a ticket booth on the end of the pier, very unwelcoming. The rooms are small, out of 5 days had to ask 3 times for more tea bags, sugar and milk. Vacuum cleaner obviously didn't work in the hallways, carpets all frayed.
Situated right opposite Murrayfield Stadium but receptionist did not know quickest way to tram Station when asked, just said 'it's over that way' and pointed to the stadium, a fact we already knew.
Everything in the hallways has been painted grey, wall, skirting boards, window latches, telephone points!! Rooms are hot and no space to put anything. Tiny bedside cabinets with great big lamps on them, tea and coffee (when you get it) is in the cupboard because there's nowhere else to put it.
Won't be going back here.

We have just returned from a lovely 3 night break at the Murrayfield Hotel. On checking in we were shown to our room. I must admit that I was a little shocked at the size of the room (classic twin) it was very small. The hotel website and booking. Com are a little misleading. That said the room was clean modern and the bathroom was beautiful. We stayed bed and breakfast and I have to say breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and large portions. We had no trouble getting additional tea and toast. We did have an evening meal in the hotel and again found this really good. In the restaurant we were looked after by Pat who was lovely and an asset to the hotel. On returning each evening to the hotel Pat always asked about our day a lady who really understands the meaning of good customer service. The hotel is on a main bus route into the city and we got a day ticket that can be used up until midnight for ÂŁ4.80 brilliant value. We were really lucky as the weather was glorious when we stayed. We bought a hop on hop off bus ticket for 48 hrs for 2 if us this costed ÂŁ26 again great value as we used it each day to get to all the main sites in Edinburgh. Edinburgh is a beautiful city and whist we packed in a lot during our stay there are still things I would like to do and see. Most definitely will be back to the hotel which was 10 mins from Edinburgh city centre as at night the location suited us out of the hussle and bustle of the city but close enough to get into with little effort. Thanks for a great stay and hope to see you soon

3 nights on business - fortunately not when a game was on. A nice welcome and a small, but adequate room. Unfortunately the electrics were faulty, so I was moved into a large executive room - very, very nice. Facilities were good, a bath and a shower, although I was a bit worried that the bathroom window appeared to be in full view of the street and passing busses (I think some reflective coating was actually fitted).
The bed was large and comfortable although the pillows were a bit thick for my tastes.
Car parking was a bit hit and miss - not a lot of spaces and some building work, but I got one each day. I couldnt get on the WiFi, but had a very good mobile data signal, so no problems there.
Service was excellent, both at the bar and in the restaurtant, and I left feeling very happy with the whole stay

Sorry, we have not stayed at the murrayfield hotel only ate in restaurant.
There are a couple of stairs on the property adjacent to where the original hotel is. No elevator in this building. The rooms are spacious and there was a heavily frosted door to the bathroom separating the bedroom area and bathroom. No breakfast was included for us. there is a tea kettle and an "instant" coffee set up in the room.
Probably about 10 parking spaces available at the Murrayfield Hotel.
Hi think checkin is 2pm and yes you should be able to leave your bags
