This Hotel was the best way to start our first trip to Scotland. The staff member who helped us at checkin/checkout was friendly, welcoming and provided a ton of great information about transportation, places to see etc. We couldn't have asked for better assistance. The Restaurant was fabulous, best food of the whole trip. Pat is a gem. She made us look forward to coming to breakfast/dinner each day. Parking was a little difficult but doable. Right on the bus line so getting into Edinburgh was easy, dependable and affordable.

Just had an absolutely delicious meal before the Harry Styles gig. Place was very, very busy as you would expect before a big gig. But thanks to Pat we had the best service. She was a superstar from start to finish.

I’d highly recommend this hotel. I loved the amenities, the hotel is very nice , a combination of an old beautiful building with a modern interior. they keep it very clean at all times. My room was very nice , clean, comfortable and modern. Staff were very nice and attentive, mostly at the restaurant, and mostly the lady from France. Breakfast was great, delicious food with a variety of fresh meats, cheeses and pastries, just to name a few. Location was great, stop bus just outside the hotel, very easy access to the public transportation. City center and main train station very close by bus. I’d highly recommend this hotel 🏰

Popped in for a drink after the Beyonce gig at Murrayfield (don't ask...I took my niece and her friend as a favour to my sister!....but Beyonce was actually billiant!!_. We found a table and shared with an other couple. Also we were able to get some food even though it was 10.45 (pies but at that time I'd eat anything). The staff were brilliant and worked their socks off. There was a guy singing and playing guitar - and there's something hilarious about a middle aged bloke singing "All The Single Ladies" and other Beyonce material but it was clear the ladies (>80% of the audience were ladies), single or otherwise were very entertained! The choice of beers was excellent and the service great despite the lateness of the hour and the number of people who'd popped in post-Beyonce. We have made a note to go back and have a proper meal sometime soon.

I visited the Murrayfield Hotel Bothy restaurant with friends and had an awful experience.. I would have been happy to rectify this over email but after emailing and having no response, I had to share on trip advisor. Below is the email copy I sent to the hotel on 2nd April 2023. I am writing to complain about the service I received whilst dining with you on Friday evening. My partner and I chose the Murrayfield Hotel for a get together with friends as we are moving abroad next month - we chose to dine with you after a positive experience only a few weeks ago. We had a table booked for 6 people (including a 2 year old) at 6:30pm. We were offered a children’s menu, however this never arrived. We waited for around 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken, and it then took another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. The restaurant wasn’t busy, but clearly short staffed (which they kept telling us, and saying they couldn’t help as they had other things to do). When the drinks arrived, we placed our order and waited another 30 minutes before being told that the kitchen printer ran out of paper and they didn’t get our order. At this point we should have left but as we had a young child with us who needed fed, we decided to stay. No complementary drinks were offered. We went to the bar to ask for a teaspoon to feed the child some snacks we had luckily brought with us, but we were told “sorry too busy I can’t help right now”. Another guest then walked into the bar and started smoking inside, and no member of staff questioned or asked him to leave. This left an awful smell throughout the restaurant which as I am sure you can imagine, was very unpleasant. When the food finally arrived, it was fine but ruined by the awful service. We then asked for the bill and we were told “I’m here on my own and have too much to do can you just wait a bit” - not the response you need after already waiting over 1 hour for food, with a young child who needs to go home. When the bill came, the deposit we had paid wasn’t deducted and we then had to wait for another receipt. The restaurant was quiet, but there was a small group in the bar. The bar was covered in drinks, empty crockery in the restaurant and rude employees who tarnished our experience. We live locally and regularly visit your establishment but will think twice before returning. I wanted to contact you via email to allow you to rectify this situation before posting a negative review online. It was really disappointing to recommend The Murrayfield to our friends and be let down by such an awful experience. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback.

A wonderfully appointed and comfortable hotel. With a plumbing causing noise in the room we were immediately moved to another room no questions asked. Maureen, Marcella and the team were wonderful making our stay all the more memorable. The lads at the bar were friendly and highly sociable as well

This was a nice, quaint little hotel in Edinburgh. Overall we liked our stay, the only complaint was that, we received a card for two free drinks at the on-site restaurant because we booked directly with the hotel; but those were not honored in the on-site bar, which was a disappointment.

Have been in the hotel's restaurant a couple of times this year and all i can say is that everytime we come to the restaurant the service and the food does not disappoint. We were last in on Sunday and the food was absolutely delicious. The server Alex always checked on us if we need anything and his attitude was very polite and understanding. We were with two little kids and they enjoyed the stay as well. As a future reference i can say is to increase the presentation of the drinks and the to decrease the duration of their preparation, as there was enough staff behind the bar to do this😀

Excellent hotel, staff are friendly and easy to speak too breakfast was amazing waiting staff where very attentive. The room was well decorated and a pleasure to be, the shower was brilliant no problem with water pressure or temperature. The hotel is situated right by murrayfield stadium a 10min bus ride to the city centre the stops are very close to the hotel which was a bonus. We had a issue with payment but it was dealt with by a very professional manager and was sorted with no messing excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning later on in the year thank you to all the staff and especially the new manager.
