I appreciated this ''un-hostel'' hostel so much I even did a review of it on my website (see below). Basics which I look for in a hostel include a warm, reasonably comfortable bed; clean and ample showers and toilets; free breakfast; internet access; a good location for sightseeing and a friendly, helpful staff; all at backpacker prices. The Globetrotter Inn...

This is your typical hostel. You can get single/double rooms, or stay in the super cheap 6 person rooms. This place is pretty sound proof and had no problems sleeping. There is a bar downstairs with super nice bartenders there to answer any questions til midnight at least normally. They also have a shuttle service that will drop off and...

I stayed here with my 50yr old mum and we thought this hostel was fantastic! We booked the double room, which we found very comfortable and quiet. The view this hostel has is incredible. The courtesy vehicle makes this location convenient. It is far away enough to be a nice escape, yet the courtesy bus takes you into the city...

I spent 3 nights with some friends in the Globetrotter Inn. Over all it was a nice stay. The rooms were spacious enough and clean. The bathrooms were shared but very clean. It has a big cafeteria and breakfast was good. There's a common room to hang out but I missed the typical backpackers atmosphere. It's a quiet inn. The...

I went there with a friend of mine. We arrived really late in the night (around 1am I think) but everything went smoothly. We had just to wait a little bit for the night manager to get back from the basement (where they wash the bed linen and stuff). The first night, we stayed in an individual room. A bit...

We booked two nights in a private room at this hostel going on the good reviews on TripAdvisor for the last two nights during our trip through Scotland. We experienced as nominally friendly with a 'you really should be glad I am talking to you at all' attitude. The beds were worn and gave me pain in my back after...

My first impression of Globetrotter Inn Edinburgh was that it was very dirty. The toilets were filthy and the bar room smelt musty and the tables were dirty. However, we arrived just before the cleaners had done their rounds. First impressions aside, I found the staff to be polite and helpful, excellent extras (free breakfast and WiFi, a TV room...

The hostel runs a shuttle service about every hour to Waterloo Place, even during the night until 3 am. Nevertheless I found the hostel very noisy. Beds adjacent to the hallway are subject to lots of noise from the cracking floor of people wallking to the bathrooms at the back of the building from very early in the morning. Wifi...

All well organized, clean, and friendly staff, they helped me because I had a terrible and bad experience with Globetrotters in Glasgow that it´s nothing to do with them. Globetrotters Edinburgh is so beautiful, you will feel so fine there.

This is a very large hostel which benefits from being on the bank of the Firth of Forth and away from the bustle of the main city centre. There is a large, well equipped kitchen with lots of fridges & freezers so there should always be somewhere to keep your food but be warned the on site shop is stupidly...
