When I arrived in 21/2/17 the hotel Wi-Fi was not working, this caused me an inconvenience straight away and for the next TWO Days, the hotel Wi-Fi was "restored" on the 22nd but it was unusable because it was sooooooooo slow (it was as slow in the main reception & bar area). I had to leave the hotel & find...

Motel One is a lovely little hotel. It is very clean! All of the staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating staff and all for such a great price! Very cheap. Booked last minute and there was no hassle, the staff were happy to help. The staff tried their best to accommodate our every need. The beds are comfy, the rooms...

The hotel is in a fantastic location for tourists visiting the city. It's no thrills, but good value for money. Nice and modern. Breakfast certainly isn't worth the price they put on it, with its limited selection, but I chose not to go for the option of breakfast included fortunately. No complaints from me!

Stayed here for the weekend with my mum. The first impression was great. Beautiful interior design and furniture, lovely reception and nice welcome. Brilliant location, just a 3 minute walk from the station and just perfect to walk everywhere as it feels like it's right in the middle, between Princess Street, Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. Unfortunately, we did not...

On arrival, my first impression was 'wow it's beautiful', the exterior was fantastic and lobby was lovely! Reception staff were very friendly. I took a lift to my room on the 4th floor to room 23 (which I was told was the best room in the hotel as it was myself and my partners anniversary)! Then room was all white,...

Excellent location, staff very friendly, clean/spacious room and probably the best hotel we've ever stayed at where general noise, disturbance from other guests (door slamming etc) during the early hours and before was non existent, i.e. undisturbed during sleep on both nights. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I'm a big Motel One fan from the beginning. I've been to the Royal In Edinburgh already twice and the location is really top. Next to the old town and the Royal Mile. Central Station is just across the street and the Airlink bus to the airport stops just in front of the hotel. The rest is Motel One like....

Great location, 200yd walk up (by up I mean up) Cockburn St and you are on the Royal Mile. Then a 5 min walk and you are in the new town, even Leith is only a 30 min walk away and deffo worth a look. Staff are superb, all nationalities, Gatis is great if you fancy a late night drink...

I've stayed in the Motel One Princes so tried out this one too! Great location and easy to get to everything; we spent a day at the museum and grass market, then a day on princess street. The hotels lobby/living area is lovely and inviting and we enjoyed a few drinks at the bar. The room is big enough, comfy...

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
