Fantastic stay - hosts went above and beyond, room was spacious, clean and tidy, breakfast was lovely (and they even went the extra mile to bring me a difference breakfast to our door the night before the half marathon). Perfect location to walk everywhere we needed to. Will definitely be back!!

What a great place to stay! The staff were fabulous and extremely helpful. Kevin was an amazing host. The breakfast was incredible and a wonderful way to start the day. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect, within walking distance of restaurants and most sites. My stay was excellent, and I would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Ceilidh-Donia.

We had a perfect stay at the hotel, the rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, the area was quiet even although we were very close to the centre of Edinburgh. Breakfast was great just what you need to start your day, Kevin our host was incredible, so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back.

From the minute we walked in we was made to feel so welcome. Kevin and Susan are fantastic hosts, the rooms are spacious and clean, plenty of space in the bathroom too and the showers are very powerful which is good. Kevin is a brilliant breakfast host he can't do enough for you and both are happy to have conversations with you. We have found out new b&b for our yearly visit to the city. Will recommend this to anyone you won't be disappointed

I loved this small hotel. It was well situated for walking and while it doesn’t have a restaurant it is very close to one that has excellent food. Our room, 4, was long and narrow. The window opened. The street was very quiet. The beds feel new and the sheets and comfort are clean and crisp. It is a vintage building so the retrofitting of electric outlets can be quirky, but they work. The stairs are steep and staff will help move luggage. Breakfast is included and it was very good and cooked to order. One evening we asked Kevin for advice on trying whiskey. He had a ton of questions and comments. He chose one that we really did enjoy. We requested a packed lunch. The sandwich, fruit, pastry were very good and reasonably priced. I would stay there again.

This was our fourth stay postponed from 2020 due to you know what. It had been four years since we last saw Susan and Kevin, the owners of this wonderful gem of a hotel. It is located off the main road in a residential neighbourhood. We were greeted with a smile from Susan when she saw us. She knew my spouse had knee issues and offered us a choice of either a ground or first floor room. Our room was very clean and a good size. Breakfast was great as we remembered. There is a small bar area at the reception area. This hotel is more like a larger bed and breakfast than a hotel with its personal touches from the owners. Don't be put off by the hotel not being in the city centre. It is only a 1+ mile walk to North Bridge, and there are busses about a block away that will take you to the city centre. There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel if you wish to eat close by. Kevin and Susan will gladly provide advice as to where to eat and attractions. We are looking forward to our next stay.…

Smashing little hotel about mile or so from city centre served by adequate buses stopping about 200 yards from hotel. Great hosts and lovely breakfast cooked to order which is always a plus for me . Would have no hesitation recommending this hotel .

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel owners were very friendly and checked us in and provided local information to help us find our way around. There is a bus stop about 2 mins walk that gets you into the centre of Edinburgh or through to Leith. The room was clean and very comfortable and the breakfast very nice. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

This has been my third stay at this hotel since 2018 and I can continue to highly recommend it. It is in a residential section, 1.5 miles from the center of the city, which is totally walkable. If you prefer the bus, there is a bus stop two minutes walk from the door of the hotel that will take you to the city in 15 minutes. Very accessible. When you arrive from the airport, you can either take a bus or a taxi. I have use the taxi service (just ask Kevin to arrange it ) on my return to the airport in the early morning hours and they have always been on time and reliable. Kevin and Susan are the most gracious hosts, along with the team at the hotel, and have continually exceeded my expectations. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the water pressure in the shower is outstanding and quickly heats, and the extra added touches of coffee and tea in your room, hairdryer, and exquisitely, smelling soap/lotion along with thick bath towels, are welcoming after a day in the city. I stayed on the top floor (3rd), which is walk up, but the view of Arthur’s Seat was amazing. Breakfasts are substantial and so deliciously well prepared. There is a wide array of choices to suit everyone , and the breakfast dining room is like eating in a garden with the windows and light pouring in. There is a small bar and a TV seating area when you come in. And there is a host always on site, which is comforting. I cannot say enough about this establishment. Thank you for another wonderful visit.…
