Overall, great location for those of us attempting to do Europe on a slight budget. Spacious rooms and restrooms in New Town walking distance from restaurants and pubs. Took us about 20 minutes to talk to Edinburgh Castle and the rest of old town. Pretty easy even for my little legs. There was a Laundromat about 20 minutes walk as...

Amazing place right in the city centre. cafes and food places direct next to it, 1 minute walk to shopping mile, 20 minute walk up the hill to the castle. Very clean, lovely rooms, big spacious community living room, coffees and tea on the room. free Wifi. Altgough wifi can be a bit slow on 2nd floor. Definitely Hotel standard....

This B&B was just FANTASTIC!! First off, the room was sooooo nice, a lot nicer than we were expecting. Bed was extremely comfortable, decent sized room, and kept very warm as it was insanely freezing outside. David and Katy are very hospitable, catering to specific needs we had. Always with a smile and warm greeting, was a real pleasure. Definitely...

We stayed here over Christmas whilst visiting family. Beautifully decorated rooms in a great location with exceptional hosts. As other reviewers have mentioned, the only consideration is the stairs. I would totally recommend and the price is very reasonable for the quality. Will definitely visit again.

Wonderful hosts who are available to assist you with anything at any time; comprehensive Welcome book provided for any queries that you may have! A steep climb to the main room which can test your fitness when lugging around your case full of Christmas Market wares.. Beautiful room with some lovely features & a beautiful theme throughout, although it seemed...

Visited this B&B for a short stay with family and couldn't fault it. It's centrally located and the Georgian style is lovely. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful advising us on places and things to do. Even sending a message the morning of arrival asking what time we would be arriving to ensure they are available...

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
