I stayed at Highfield Guest House for 3 nights and it was very enjoyable. I did not get to meet Gordon but Maggie and Kate were really friendly, helpful and made me feel at home right away. I was in the only single room of the house, very comfy bed and quiet at night despite being on the road side....

Upon my arrival at the Highfield Guest House in Edinburgh, I was warmly welcomed by the family that run this fine establishment. The first thing I noticed was just how friendly they were. The room was spacious, warm and extremely clean and tidy. The Guest House itself is in a great location, a mere 10 minute walk from Arthur's Seat,...

They provided loads of city guides and were really knowledgeable of where to go and what to see in Edinburgh. The breakfast was included in the...

I was nervous about a solo trip to Edinburgh, particularly since I was staying outside of the city center. Upon arrival Maggie made me feel incredibly welcome, safe and comfortable! She showed me all the different ways to get into town and I realized Highfield is in the perfect location! You can get to city center via multiple bus stops...

My wife and I, together with our two kids were delighted to stumble across this delightful B&B run by Maggie and Gordon. We had arrived exhausted from an overnight train trip from London to Inverness, followed by a 3 hour drive and were warmly welcomed. With the boys too tired to go out, we were offered plates and cutlery to...

My partner and I stayed at Highfield Guest House for 4 nights in September 2012. From our first email and telephone exchange and throughout our four days there, Maggie, Gordon and Kate were the consummate hosts. Funny, warm, thoughtful, and endlessly helpful The house is charming, absolutely spotless, extremely comfortable and spacious. The only drawback is that everwhere we stayed...
