Ideal for a short stay or stop off in Edinburgh, handy for bus route up to ity centre. Bars,Shops,Restaurants just round the corner on Leith Walk plus the beautiful Leith Links which is similar to the stray in Harrogate. Room is adequate and there is a shared bathroom. Cant fault the price for a big city either. Wifi wasn't working my...

Stayed at the Edinburgh Thistle guest house, very good value, with a well presented room just outside town. Had room with ensuite, not that they all are. Ideally used it as a base for getting out and about exploring Edinburgh. Ample parking out the front.

Do not stay more than a night if you have to! My partner booked as we attended a family gathering in Edinburgh and thought the price was ok. No staff to welcome you... Like others have stated, 4 digit code to open the black front box at the door and once inside, an envelope with name and room key -...

After driving 8 and a half hours to Scotland, after being stuck in all of the bank holiday traffic, we expected something...more. We had the code for the little box by the front door so we could let ourselves in with the key inside, and rather than being greeted by an a person, we were greeted by an envelope with...

Came here for a mid-week stay during the Fringe Festival and didn't fancy the high cost of a central hotel. There's free on road parking which was a bonus. We arrived a little bit early and the man cleaning gave us the room keys. The room was fine, comfy bed and a view overlooking the park opposite. The only downside...

Similar to other reviews, there don't appear to be any staff around. The room is small although clean and very quiet. Close to town (easy access to a few different bus routes). Could not do a late checkout as they were fully booked (fair enough), however they offered to hold our baggage for an extra 5 pound, and as you...

Used as a base to visit Edinburgh, it was just a 10 minute bus ride to Princes street. Nice location opposite a park. There was nobody there to welcome us - just an envelope with keys in. However a sign said payment on arrival. How? The accommodation was very clean, and together with the low cost saved this from getting...

We were passing through Edinburgh and so, just needed a bed for the night. The Guest House was a 20min walk from the main centre and it was very comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Very good value for money if you are just looking for a bed for the night. Definitely recommend it!

room is small and clean with all amenities of the first world, except for a shared toilet and shower upstairs. My window opens for nice fresh air. You can really tell the manager works hard at keeping the place clean and welcoming. There is a women's beauty spa downstairs, apparently. Rad.
