The Abercorn Guest House is the most fabulous, friendly and welcoming home in Scotland. We have stayed with this wonderful family numerous times (two or three times a year for many years). Angela and her family are the most delightful you will ever meet. The accomodations are decorated with the most gorgeous fabrics and excellent taste. But the MacDonald family...

We stayed in the Abercorn Guest House for a long weekend and it was wonderful. Angela made us feel at home stright away. The food was superb and the rooms bright and comfortable. The bus to the city centre was directly out side and the beach a 3 min walk away. If you are planning on going to Edinburgh stay...

Great place to stay for a romantic weekend! Angela was great and the Scotish breakfast was awesome. Rooms are also great. The only downside is that the hotel is located like 20 minutes by bus to the center city. But overall, definitely a great place to stay for a couple of nights!! I would do it again, if I am...

Inspired by the reviews here at trip advisor, we booked two nights at the Abercorn Guest House. As almost expected, so many recommendations can't go wrong. We had such a pleasant stay. Angela is a wonderful host, and her dad is such an adorable person. What a refreshment to meet such nice people. When we arrived we were welcomed with...

This is a beautiful building in a lovely area, a short way outside the centre of Edinburgh. The area is very quiet and just a couple of minutes walk from a lovely sandy beach. Angela, your hostess at Abercorn, is delightfully chatty and welcoming. It felt like we'd known each other for years. Also, Angela is very knowledgable about the...

The whole house was lovely, so warming and clean and had great decor. Angela was so very friendly, relaxed and funny and extremely helpful. We were even invited to have photo's in her...

My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay at Abercorn Guest House. This accommodation was highly recommended to us by friends from work and we certainly were not disappointed. Angela was a delightful host. Nothing was too much trouble for her to do for the guests. The rooms were spotless and furnished to a very...

Angela Mc Donald is a terrific and friendly hostess who instantly makes you feel at home. The house and rooms are truly lovely, there is a wonderful glassed-in winter garden where you can eat breakfast or enjoy a cup of afternoon tea. The breakfast is fabulous! Every evening you turn in a checked-off list of what you would like to...

Returning to Edinburgh is always a pleasure, but if to that we add Abercorn, it becomes perfection! Angela is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met and one that knows the language of smiles very well!! Besides being a beautiful house, Abercorn is perfectly located in the centre of Portobello (15 minutes by bus to the city centre...
