HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

Just back from a night at Tigerlily - and felt compelled to comment on our wonderful stay. We requested a quiet room and were given a beautiful one on the 3rd floor, which was well equipped and nicely decorated with a rainforest shower, king-size bed, and lots of little extras ie GHT hairdryer / White Co toiletries / Bluetooth music...

We were VERY happy with this hotel. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was really well thought out, spacious, and nicely appointed. This was the nicest hotel we stayed at during our stay in the UK. The only downside is that the NCP care part is about 5 minutes walk away; however, we were able to drop our...

For a surprise 50th birthday present I booked direct with the hotel. I spoke to both Chris and Emma and explained what I needed. A mini Georgian suite, love package, late checkout and breakfast in bed. On arrival the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the bar and restaurant looked amazing. We checked in and went to our room,...

Tigerlily is more of an experience than just an overnight stay. Everything surprises you in a positive way but it is still the abundance of friendly staff which make it truly great. It will remain in the number one spot as a place to stay in Edinburgh for me.

Second time we've stopped here. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff excellent, helpful and friendly. Bar can get busy and noisy, but is fully stocked. Cocktails are a bit pricey. The decoration is very funky. Food is good and priced as you'd expect of a city centre location

What an amazing find!! Just loved Tigerlily Hotel and its superb staff. Our first visit to Edinburgh and we liked to look of the hotel from internet and found it to be even better than we hoped. The hotel is relatively small - about 30 rooms, but had deceptively spacious bar and restaurant areas. It has very bright and funky...

Tigerlily is my first choice in Edinburgh: great food, splendid bar, good value, very competent and pretty waiting staff. The hotel is modern and Super centrally located - you can walk everywhere. While the rooms could be a bit more spacious, they are flawless. When in Edinburgh you shouldnt miss going to tigerlily for a drink or dinner- first class...

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
