Highly recommend l! I would have given this a 10+ review if that was an option. Best, friendliest, most conscientious, environmentally-minded accommodation I’ve ever experienced in my long life! I came here with friends to explore Edinburgh. Through a rental car mishap (city is crowded right now after Covid), we had to stay in Edinburgh for an added five days. Although we had no reservations at this busy, booked hotel, the managers and staff did everything possible to find a room for us. We came to love these people. Every one of them was amazingly helpful. The breakfast provided here (included) proved to be my favorite all-time healthy breakfast. Every aspect of the hotel is environmentally sustainable. Most impressive. Rooms are small but have everything we needed. The place is upscale, in the heart of the vibrant city, and has excellent beds. I have never experienced such gracious hospitality and customer service. This is a place to which I will return! Thank you to Ibis!

Hotel's Favourite
This was our first time staying at this hotel but definitely won't be the last. We were staying one night for my mum's birthday, I booked us a balcony room. As soon as we entered the hotel to drop off our bags, we were given such a warm and friendly welcome. We returned to the hotel a few hours later and checked into our room. We were blown away by the stunning views from the huge windows and balcony. The room was immaculate and decorated in a modern and quirky style. It was well equipped and very comfortable. The location of the hotel is superb. We always take the train through to Edinburgh and it's about a 5 minute walk from the station and overlooking the very pretty St Andrews Square. It's near the shops and restaurants, couldn't ask for better. I'd like to thank all the staff for helping make my mum's birthday such a special one, especially Amber, Gosia and Samantha who were all just delightful. It was so appreciated.

Just checked in to find that the room we checked into (although clean) had no tissues, no face cloths. It was suggested when I called down to the desk about the tissues that there was a toilet roll! I also asked for a bar of soap instead of pump soap and that was not available either. On the plus side, the staff are friendly but for 550 pounds a night we expected minimum amenities. So, bring your own tissues. We’ll see how the rest of the trip goes but so far, we are disappointed.

Great and stylish city hotel, right next to St. Andrew Square. It was easy to get there by tram from the airport. The room was fine, nice design - only a bit loud in the mornings, as our room was in the lower groundfloor and we could hear the people upstairs. Perfect location for a short city trip. Great selections at the breakfast buffet.

Dear Tanja, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our stylish design and convenient location right next to St. Andrew Square and that you appreciated the variety of our breakfast buffet. However, we're sorry to hear that you experienced some noise in your lower ground floor room. Our hotel is situated in a historic building with various room sizes and locations, and we understand that noise can sometimes be an issue. We would be more than happy to accommodate you in a higher floor room during your next stay to ensure a more peaceful experience. Nonetheless, it's great to know that our hotel was perfect for your short city trip. We hope to welcome you back to our hotel in the future for an even better stay. Best regards, Zoltan Fuzesy, Assistant General Manager

Recently completed a 1 night stay here, the hotel was really impressive. It was really modern, clean and unique design. Staff were really friendly upon check in (3pm). The hotel is situated in a excellent location (couldn't be better). Walking distance from all of the main shops, restaurants and bars. The breakfast in the hotel was OK, but abit cramped area. Some hot food dishes (omelette, cooked breakfast etc) is really needed. Nice bar area The hotel was really quiet too, good stay overall. Its definitely a good option to stay and il be staying again in the future.

We arrived in Edinburgh late after struggling with lost luggage at the airport. We were tired, hungry, and in need of emergency supplies to get us through until our luggage caught up with us. The Ibis folks were outstanding, pointing us to local stores and offering to call around for specific items. The hotel had a bar with a limited, but good, menu, and again the staff was fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. We walked everywhere we wanted to go. When we returned here after three weeks to finish our Scotland adventure, it was like coming home. I can't recommend this place enough.

Really upset we weren't informed by either Booking.com or the Hotel of nightshift major building work outside the hotel. We would have cancelled had we known in advance as ruined our trip getting zero sleep. A 70ft crane, floodlights and noisy builders from 10pm to 10am aren't acceptable. When I complained to Hotel they apologised and said everyone is complaining yet they said we were happy to accept a bottle of wine as apology. In actual fact the bottle of wine was because they put us in a cheaper rooms than we booked and the wine was for my friends birthday as an apology. The wine was all before the noisy nightshift....so was in no way accepting as a gesture in advance of roadworks. I am so livid with Booking.com response of no compensation. Do not book this hotel as building works are until the Summer of 2023. Sadly very disappointing stay!

Dear Maps804143 Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry that you decided to leave a review like this, however we are not sure if you had stayed with us, as there is no building works anywhere near to our hotel, there hasn't been any cranes anywhere next to our building and there were no any nightshift works in the last 6 months either. Our hotel has 8 floor in total and the lobby and bar has 25 tables where guests can have breakfast unlike what your review says. If we did have any night shift works we would have informed our guests in advance. Kind Regards

Perfectly located to explore the city by foot, minutes from the railway station and the major sites and museums. We enjoyed visiting Arthur’s seat, the castle, the royal mile, the botanic gardens and the national galleries. Lots of restaurants and bars on the doorstep. The front of house staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel and our room were clean and for such a busy location our room was also exceptionally quiet. The quality Arran aromatics toiletries are a nice touch. We had a twin room which although decorated nicely was in need of a little attention. The bathroom door didn’t close properly, the toilet seat was wobbly, the light pull frayed. It would have been helpful to have comfortable chairs in the bedroom when we kicked back at the end of the day. The included breakfast is a simple cold continental offering.
