I arrived midday and Richard was there to greet me. He was so sweet! I travelled alone and he made sure I knew where I was going and that I was safe. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Very very close to bus stop. Very clean house. My departure flight was in the early morning so Richard even offer to pack me...

Even though the owner seemed a bit nervous when I arrived, he was extremely friendly and welcoming. My ensuite room as a solo traveler was very comfortable and fit my needs. Breakfast was delicious. Free parking is available. Located in a quiet neighborhood about a 20-30 minute walk from City Centre. Buses run on the main street, which is just...

It was like walking into a time warp with bad mismatched decor. The bed was clean so we stayed as we were tired from travelling . The en suite was awful - very dusty and badly laid out. The shower was hopeless - you could not get it to stay at a consistent temperature as the hot water was dangerously...

Arriving by train early afternoon we were able to drop off our luggage(the room was ready) and be back in town by two o'clock - all by bus!! We made two nights into three days and had a most enjoyable stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and amazing value for money. I would certainly recommend this guesthouse.

I had the great pleasure of staying again for a week at lovely Dorstan Guest House while visiting Edinburgh and other areas in Scotland. As with my other stays at Dorstan, everything was just perfect. Richard, the owner, and his marvelous staff are each one so very helpful, friendly, accommodative and do everything they can to make your stay great....

Just returned from a 3 night stay. When I arrived I was met by Richard who gave me a map told me which buses would get me into the city and where to get them. I chose to walk there and back - I walk slowly so it took me about 30/35 minutes but if walking normal speed I would...

It's a lovely little B&B that is a short bus trip away from central Edinburgh. The hosts were very nice and full of tips and pointers and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful! The only reason this isn't a 5 is that the bathrooms and general decor are slightly dated but I would most definitely stay there again, updated or not.
