This was our first time staying at this hotel but definitely won't be the last. We were staying one night, as we came with a big group.. As soon as we entered the hotel to drop off our bags, we were given a warm and friendly welcome by a nice lady and a gentlemen with beard (sorry for not taking their names). The room was immaculate and nicely decorated in a modern style. It was well equipped and very comfortable. The location of the hotel is superb. We took the tram to Edinburgh and it's about a 25 minute until city centre, very convenient location. I'd like to thank all the staff for being professional and welcoming. It was so appreciated. The hotel is worst than a 3rd grade lodge. First of all they don’t have Bell Boy service for luggage. We had to pick up our own bags with family n kids along. I saw old age people also doing the same. We booked two rooms and the AC weren’t working at all. Tried calling the reception 20 times for 20 mins but they we literally not answering the call. I had to personally go to reception and complain about the AC. The reception team said they were too busy with check in and they can’t answer the phone and guest has to come down in such cases …really ????? This hotel is charging more than 220 pounds per night for such an awful service. I am presently staying in the hotel while I am writing this review. To my surprise , the hotel has offered me to place fans until the AC gets rectified. I HAVE NO WORDS ! WORST EVER HOTEL !

Dear Mr Pareshbh, thank you so much for your valuable feedback after your recent stay. My sincere apologies for not being able to offer the excellent service that we hope to offer to all of our guests. I promise I will address the customer service part of your comment with the team member you talk to. May I please clarify few of points you also mentioned? Yes, this hotel do not have AC system and we do not offer bell boy. Those services are not even listed on our website as part of our services, I am so sorry you expected them. None of the 4-start hotel around this area had any of them. The team member actually apologised to you not being able to take your call in time, because he had an emergency he needed to handle and it took longer than a check in. We are terribly sorry to see that your opinion is that we are the worst hotel, however I can assure you we will continue to work hard, learn from our mistakes to be able to improve our services even further, and we hope we will be able to offer you an excellent stay sometime. Kind regards, Attila

Extremely nice comfortable property for a small trip for vacation or business. More of a business trip property because its away from city center. However, an advantage which makes this also a good vacation option is tram station right outside the hotel, 2 min walk, with a service of 5 min frequency and from 6am to 11pm (approx.). This tram takes you right inside the city center. The staff at the property are helpful and make your stay comfortable, true to the brand of Novotel they represent. The reception staff is helpful. The property also has good comfort gym etc facilities for stay. Breakfast options are good. Certainly worth a stay and worth the spend.

Good stay, room was a good size and tidy, although had a hospital smell! Didn't use any hotel facilities during my stay. Bathroom was particularly nice. Receptionist Adam on Sunday night really helped me with something last minute, so a big thanks to him.

Fantastic place to stay! Literally a 1 minute walk from the tram stop, across from a TK MAXX if you forgot anything. The staff at the desk was beyond helpful!! They were happy to store our luggage on either side of our stay so we wouldn’t have to drag it around. They were super sweet and interactive with my kids. The breakfast buffet was worth it, such a large selection so even my picky eaters could find something. Nice pool for some swim time too!n the room was very comfy. We got a little toasty, but otherwise great. Would definitely stay there again!

We (two adults and 2 children) stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and overall found it a positive experience. The hotel is located 4 or 5 miles from the City Centre however it is really convenient for using the Tram service (book online prior to visit!) There is a busy road close to the hotel and it was quite noisy in the mornings but it was a lot quieter at night time. There are several shops such as Tesco & Aldi very close. We didn't have dinner in the hotel during our stay but the breakfast was decent, plenty of choices and staff very helpful. It was very busy however and 2 mornings, we were waiting some time to get a table. I would definitely consider staying here again if we return to Edinburgh.

Just left the hotel and I have not a bad word. It has been a great 4 nights stay and would be the hotel I use again if I came back to Edinburgh. Located outside of the city, it’s away from the chaos especially in tourist season but it is conveniently located on the tram line which gets you into Edinburgh in around 15-20 mins. The hotel itself was lovely and clean, staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was decently priced with good portions (we had one evening meal). We had a room with a sofa bed which was a good size for 2 adults and 2 pre teens (they just liked that we had a large tv) with lots of amenities. Finally I chose this hotel as it has a pool and gym which was great for the kids to use. I asked for a quiet room prior to arrival though to be honest it’s a quiet area (we hardly heard the trains or the road) so unsure if was given one or not. Sleeping isn’t he area was not an issue. Couple of tips- the breakfast is very pricey in my opinion (£17.99 per adult and kids are for free), with this in mind we had breakfast every morning in Tesco opposite the hotel (5 min walk) and fed all of us for £17 each day (full English included in the price). Also worth buying your tram ticket online before you arrive as we bought a 5day family ticket which included the airport return and found this to be cheaper online. All in all a fantastic stay and would recommend to anyone.

Excellent hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant dinner was lovely and the breakfast excellent. Having such a nice pool was a bonus and it was used everyday by our daughter. Special mention to Ionela who was the house keeper. Our room was very well made and clean everyday. The tram is 5 minutes walk from the hotel and you can in central Edinburgh within half an hour. We're looking forward to our next stay.
