Excellent hotel! We stayed for my girlfriends birthday weekend, and the hotel and staff were brilliant.

They helped me with all requests to make it a special stay and even provided a birthday platter delivered to the room!

Highly recommend this hotel and would stay again next time we are in Edinburgh.

Easy access to the city centre (20mins on a tram) close to the airport and easily accessible by driving, with a secure car park.

5 stars is not enough!

Yet another return visit, which should itself speak volumes.

The location is handy for the ring road and if arriving by rail it is a mere 300 yard walk from the local railway station and tram stop, the tram delivering you to/from the airport and approx 15 minutes into the city centre.

As expected I found all staff to be friendly, efficient and professional and I had an enjoyable stay. I took room service dinner which was taken from a wide ranging menu and not ludicrously expensive. The breakfast was in the restaurant and was excellent, with a very wide range of things on offer.

My room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable and I got a very good night of sleep.

The only thing that is a little bugbear of mine is that everytime you come in the front door you get a noticeable whiff of chlorine from the swimming pool in the basement. I have mentioned this in more than one occasion but nothing eveer happens, it's nit a good smell for the reception area. However, if this is the only thing that I can find fault in then everything else must be spot-on, and it ism and I will be back.

Me and my partner had a little trouble finding this place as the satnav sends us into an industrial estate where we were met by a barrier that we couldn't cross and we were beginning to lose our nerve.
When we found the hotel we were met by barrier and a big sign saying that the parking would be £20 for 24 hours we were shocked but found it too late to find other parking. Was soon settled when we got to the desk the man told us it was only for guests that arent staying and that for paying guests it is £4 for 24 hours which wasnt bad.
Our room was beautiful, very clean and newly decorated with a big tv. We didn't eat in the restaurant or go the bar. We found that £18.95 for breakfast was extremely expensive. There is a Tesco opposite a few minutes walk however no walkway to get there other than if you walk alot further to get to it. So we crossed the busy road when we could. The Tesco has a cafe in it if you want breakfast.
Also opposite is Krispy kreme and kfc too handy for us we ate like pigs the whole time we were here!.
The pool and steam room were lovely. On our first day we went about tea time and it was busy so the next 2 mornings we went at 6am when it opened and we were the only ones in there it was fab.
Very clean and with its decor makes you feel relaxed with fresh towels applied and bags for your swim stuff to go in afterwards provided.
We found our stay to be just what we needed and for the price we paid couldn't of moaned atall.

The hotel is located within a few minutes walking distance from the tram and train station, we decided on the tram which we paid less than a fiver return each to edinbrugh the tram was busy but we were there in edinburugh centre itself within 15-20 mins felt like nothing so location is perfect.

Easy check-in and all appropriate covid-19 measures taken. At check out (very early) room card was left in a box so this was fast and easy.

Room was clean and no noise could be heard from corridors or other rooms.

Time in the pool could be booked at reception but I didn't do this as I had a very early flight but it seemed well organised

Food in the bar/restaurant was good but maybe a bit of salad or some peas with the fish and chips would have been good! I had wanted to pay for meal separately from the room but the staff had already added meal to the room- just something to be mindful of and if you have a preference then state before ordering.

Overall a good stay. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel, very quiet as restrictions just been relaxed. The room was spotless and protocol made clear upon arrival
The bar and restaurant were operating a reduced menu but still had a good selection and the service was good despite the low staff levels.

Breakfast however could be improved, a bag 'to go' with a very continental selection including a sandwich (?) and cereal bar wasn't to our taste. I would have expected more of the usual cold breakfast items from the buffet but presented in the 'to go' bag to consume in the room, i.e. proper cereal, some milk, more than one very small croissant/pain au chocolat.

Overall good and we appreciate this is a new thing to deal with and everyone is still perfecting their protocol. Would love to come back when normality resumes!

Stayed here 2 adults 2 children in July 2020. Hotel is a perfect location, just on the outskirts of Edinburgh but the tram stop, a 2 min walk is ideal, trams run often and very easy to purchase tickets. the trams take you all the way to princes street and beyond. The bar area was lovely and relaxing, just wished they could add cocktails to the menu!

Room wise, everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable, towels fluffy and shower lovely and powerful. Personally, i missed having a bath though.
For 4 of us we needed more plug sockets, there wasn't enough to charge mobiles, laptops, tablets and others, so take an extension with you and problem solved. Plug socket beside the bed would have been handy too.

The bathroom door emits lots of light from it, due to the frosted panelling, which when turned on in the night lights up the whole room, depending on how you sleep, this may wake you up, it did for me.

The fridge was great, we managed to put milk, juice etc in it and its not at all noisy. The safe worked with ease too. no problems here.

We thought maybe some hooks to hang jackets/wet towels etc would have benefitted the room, there are 2 hooks in the bathroom, but again, with 4 of us we were looking for places to dry the towels. No where to hang jackets, so these were kept on back of the chair.

These are just nit picking and with these improvements i would have rated it 5 star.
The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, always felt happy to ask them for anything.

I would not hesitate to stay here again, we had a fantastic time here and would thoroughly recommend the hotel to anyone from business travellers to families.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times with my family over the past few years and unfortunately this looks like the last time.

Free for all car park that has abandoned cars and the barriers left open 24/7.

Those who don't want to pay just park on the pavement outside the main entrance and nobody challenges this, even though it was forcing disabled guests and those with young children to walk on the road to get into the hotel.

Staff were late checking us in which although not a huge issue was the tip of the iceberg.

Rooms were uncomfortably hot with the inbuilt AC/cooling unit broken and not turning on, a small desk fan was provided by housekeeping which was appreciated.

The pool is bookable by 30 minute slots which not many people were sticking to and the small unisex changing area was seeing people walk around the hotel in soaking swimming costumes etc to get back to their rooms, not very sanitary at all 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Service at the bar area was non existent, luckily we had plan's elsewhere anyway.

On the day we were checking out there was a fire alarm and a poorly managed evacuation saw guests having to try and find a safe place to stand due to a number of cars parked on the pavement outside the main entrance blocking the fire assembly points. A rude staff member barking orders at people to get off the road wasn't well received and when challenged they muttered something and walked away.

I asked for a refund of my car parking charges as it seems that you can make your own parking for free?! This was turned down by the previously mentioned staff member barking orders at everyone.

Hopefully this hotel can improve again but I really don't recommend it for the foreseeable due to the hassle we encountered and poor covid policies in place at the hotel.

Dear MartinT84, thank you for taking the time to write this review for us. We are disappointed to know that things did not go that well for you this time and that you found the situation with parking disappointing. Please know that we have been fully booked on a nightly basis since July, and unfortunately, our main car park does not have enough spaces to accommodate 170 rooms. We do offer, as an alternative, our staff car park to all guests and we ask that nobody parks at the front as this would not be safe in case of an evacuation. Our staff does enforce it and get in touch with each guest to kindly ask them to move their cars to our staff car park area. We do have Maintenance engineers working on the barriers this week, and please note that the small £4.00 charge does not generate any revenue for the hotel, it does only cover cleaning and CCTV surveillance of the area. I am sorry that your experience was not the best, and that you found one of our staff members rude. We are saddened by this, as we work very hard every day to provide our guests with an excellent experience and we are truly passionate about Hospitality. In the rare event there is a fire evacuation, our staff members need to ask everyone to please stand on the curb and clear the road so that the Fire engine can pull over by the entrance, and with so many guests staying sometimes they might need to raise their voice. This is not by any means a showcase of rudeness, but a need to be heard in times where our outmost priority is to keep everyone safe. We hope that, in spite of this experience, you give us another chance to serve you better in the future. Thank you again for your feedback. Sincerely, Daniela, Front Office Manager

I have stayed number of Novotel Hotels across the world but I am not hesitate to admit that Novotel Edinburgh Park is one of the bests. I was travelling from London so arrived quite early. Check-in was very smooth, I was preallocated Suite number 501 by Ilaria on 5th floor.

Suite was very spacious, clean and modern. Bathroom was huge with mega bathtub as well as very spacious walk-in bath. Suite had its own private terrace with incredible view. Suite has sitting area which can be separated by a sliding door between the bedroom.

Bar, Restaurant, leisure club everything was up to the mark. Only negative thing I found was that, the pool water was a bit colder than what I anticipated, it was a bit uncomfortable to swim in.

I also want to mention extremely friendly and professional staff with incredible customer service (one of the best I ever faced). Specially Ilaria and Lena were exceptional. They both made our stay out of the world. I would recommend the top management team, not to lose these Gems ever, I want to say big thank you to both of them. Honestly every single staff member was of same professional level and had played a massive part to make this Novotel very special.

Location wise this hotel was spot on, away from the city crowd but just 20 minutes Tram from the station which is located 2 minutes walk away from the hotel and cost only £3.60 return. Of course you can drive to town centre but parking will be big issue in town plus very costly. Plenty of car park available on site and comes very cheap.

Overall I would highly recommend other travellers to come and stay with Novotel Edinburgh Park, I bet it is one of the best hotels in Town.

Looking forward to stay here again. :)

Dear Hammad, Thank you so much for taking the time to post this review on TripAdvisor for us. As I have already told you, we are all delighted to know you had such a special time with us, and that we are your preferred choice when you are in Edinburgh. Our staff works hard, now harder than ever as we strive to provide our valued guests with the highest standard of service possible. Your review makes us proud and we hope to welcome you again in the future many times. Please note that our swimming pool has been reopened very recently following government regulations, and the temperature might have been slightly lower than normal, however it is back to its normal temperature now. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope you return to your home away from home very soon. Special thanks from Lena and Ilaria for your kind words towards them. Warm regards, Daniela

We decided to have a city break in Edinburgh in between Christmas and New Year and having looked at accommodation options, we decided to book the Novotel at Edinburgh Park. We were very pleased with our choice! We wanted to drive up so parking and accessibility to the city centre were key. The hotel has a car park at a very reasonable £4 per day and the tram stop is literally a couple of minutes from the hotel, so getting in and out of the city could not be easier and cost effective too!! A family ticket was approx £8.50 per day for unlimited travel.
We didn’t use the bar or restaurant as we spent our time in the city, however it looked a nice setting. We did use the pool / steam room which was great after a day of sight seeing and my son also loved the chess board in the reception area.
We found the staff on the front desk to be really friendly and helpful which was welcoming and much appreciated! We had a little problem with a couple of electrical sockets in the room but this was swiftly dealt with and we were provided with an adapter and extension cable immediately which resolved the situation. It was no problem at all.
The decor of the hotel is modern. The reception area is lovely (see my Christmas tree photo!) and our room was clean, spacious, good bathroom and we also found the fridge useful.
This was my first visit to Edinburgh and I loved the city and feel sure we will be back! We would definitely stay at the Novotel again as it suited our needs perfectly and the staff on the front desk were great! I have already recommend the hotel to friends.
The Krispy Kreme opposite was a hit with my son also!!....I did have to indulge too! Thanks for a great post Christmas break!

We arrived to the hotel early to drop off our bags and let them know that we had arrived, as we couldn’t check in until later, and headed off to the town centre, we returned only to be told our room was not ready and was given to someone else, we were then told to wait and the room would be ready in half an hour, we ended up waiting an hour before rechecking what was happening and again was told it would be ready in another 10 minutes, we waited another half hour and again checked and were told 10 minutes later finally our room was ready, on top of this I was almost charged pre-auth charge twice, once in the room, we were impressed that the room had temperature control - only to be let down that the temperature control didn’t work, gutting to see in a 27 degrees room. Finally, inexcusably my bathroom towel was dirty and stained, I got another towel from reception and this towel was stained even worse! Other than these disappointing experiences at this Novatel, I thought the price is brilliant for what was a good breakfast service, good pool and a gym, and a clean room, the location is on the outskirts of town with a convenient tram station right next to the hotel that takes you to the city centre in 15 minutes. I was happy with the room and breakfast and was happy and grateful to staff to receive a drinks voucher for our troubles however giving our room away and the dirty towels was just disappointing from a hotel chain we have respected and trusted for years.

Dear Troshy123, Thank you so much for your recent visit. We deeply regret to learn all the concerns you had during your stay. We fully understand how that affected your experience and we hope you accept our sincere apologies. Please note the team works hard however this is still extremely challenging times. For instance, everybody wants to check out as late as possible, everybody wants to check in as early as possible, while the team applies all the extra cleaning to keep everybody safe which takes a lot more time than before COVID. We are terribly sorry that in this occasion, you were the one waiting for the rooms a lot latter than we expected. We can assure you that we will do everything we can to improve in all the fields you mention and we appreciate that you gave us the opportunity of sharing your feedback. Kind regards, Attila
