The Guildhall & Linen Exchange consists of a licenced bar & restaurant serving food from 7am to 11pm every day and now after the major refurbishment the upper 2 floors have been converted into a hotel with 19 brand new en-suite bedrooms. The hotel has 19 non-smoking bedrooms situated over 2 floors all of which are accessible by lift from our 24 hour reception. All bedrooms are en-suite with built in USB ports, free Wi-Fi, an iron & ironing board, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities and a plasma TV. It should be noted that the Hotel is located in the centre of a very busy High Street, and due to this being a listed building, and restrictions on our type of glazing, there may be some noise experienced. Located below the hotel is our main bar & restaurant. Breakfast is served in the main bar every morning from 7am with the option for takeaway. Our full menu is available from 10am right through till 11pm. Directions BY CAR Exit the M90 at junction 3. From the north at the roundabout, take the fourth exit onto A907. From the south at the roundabout, take the second exit onto A907. At the roundabout, take the second exit and continue on Halbeath Road. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto East Port. East Port turns left and becomes New Row. Continue down the hill to find the pay-and-display car park available on the left-hand side usually costing around £4 for 24hrs. On foot, walk back to car park entrance and turn right. Walk up the hill and turn left at the pedestrian crossing. The hotel is located approx 100m along the High Street on your left. BY BUS Turn left out of the bus station then right onto Cross Wynd. At the bottom of the hill, turn left onto the High Street; the hotel is opposite you on the right. BY RAIL Alight from the train at Dunfermline Town Station. Head west toward St Margarets Dr/A823. Turn right toward West Drive. Turn right onto West Drive. Turn left onto Park Avenue. We recently stayed one night after visiting friends in the area and I didn’t have high expectations but I really was pleasantly surprised. Yes I agree the checking in and out isn’t really very personal and the staff are very busy within the bar area however our room was fantastic, clean, great shower, spacious and an abundance of tea and coffee. I wouldn’t stay on Fri or Sat as bars just outside would be noisy , but this is so central if you wanted a night out in Dunfermline. Only negative the bed a bit uncomfortable but fine for one night. I will say I have stayed in hotels more expensive with not as nice a room as this . Really nice touch with school children’s paintings of local historical buildings.

Booked a family room for Saturday however I received a voice mail the Thursday before our stay to inform me there were doubles available and if I wanted a double for £75 instead of the family for £95 they’d be happy to accommodate this, I was pleased to hear this as it was originally a double I wanted, however 4 mins later when I phoned back I was told that it was not possible to change rooms as I’d booked through booked.com, I explained I’d JUST been left a voice mail offering me this, to then be told over the phone “well I don’t know who told you that” as if I was lying! Absolutely appalling offering customers a better deal, to then waste their time while they phone back 4 minutes later for it to be retracted and even denied, also explained all of this on arrival again for nothing to be done and for the managed to say the room price can’t be changed (having worked in hotels I know this also isn’t true it’s quite easy to type in £75 instead of £95 on a card reader), my partner was also told over the phone by staff that he was able to collect food from down stairs and bring it up to the room although after ordering this seemed to not be the case, terrible customer care/service all round, and terrible food too!

Stayed for one night. For check-in, you need to go through to the bar/restaurant. The hotel reception is locked. Once we located a member of staff, the check-in was smooth. After going up to the second floor, we were greeted by bags of rubbish, dirty laundry, and housekeeping trolleys as well as fire doors wedged open. (2.15pm) We went into our allocated room, and it had not been cleaned. The staff member who checked us in met us on the stairs and apologised. We were able to leave our bags in the hotel reception and go for a bite to eat and drink in the bar. The staff member that originally checked us in located us to advise the room was ready. Back upstairs we went. The room was front facing, bright and clean. Unfortunately the bed had been made into two singles which was not requested when booking. The single duvets were in double duvet covers, so there was a lot of excess material that was uncomfortable. Tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits are provided (oat milk for those who want it).which is a nice addition! A packet of our biscuits had been open by the previous occupants. I asked housekeeping for a replacement, which was no problem. Towels were large and fluffy, plenty hot water. Unfortunately, the curtains don't fit the windows well, so a lot of light comes in. This may not bother some, but I'm a light sleeper. It's a conactless checkout, so we were never asked how our stay was.

Visited Dunfermline, stayed 3 nights. Spacious room, large shower, tea and coffee supplied. Iron and ironing board in room, also hair dryer if required. Situated in the middle of Dunfermline. Facilities all good, but the manager, Michelle, and her staff made the visit exceptional, with their high standard of service throughout. Highly recommend this venue. Well done👏👏👏

This has to be one of the best run Wetherspoons I've been to in many years around the U.K. The real ales are always well kept. The food is lovely. Above all, the staff are helpful and friendly. I'm working far from home but this feels like a local. Well done all.🙂👍

Good value Hotel room spotlessly clean tea coffee and water comps the bathroom spacious with a good shower over the bath (room 203) shower gel and shampoo supplied hairdryer and iron also.Bed was very comfortable and extra feather filled pillows were already in the room there was some external noise but for a city centre Hotel perfectly acceptable no noise from adjacent rooms or fellow guests.Check in was very smooth and the service friendly the hotel has a lift to all floors. My only negative was that the room was freezing on our arrival we did eat in the adjoining bar typical Wetherspoons fare but my bangers and mash was served cold although my wife's order chicken strips chips dips and coleslaw was very good all in all great value for money smack bang in the middle of Dunfermline.Blue badge holders can park outside the hotel from 3pm until 11am other parking 7 minutes walk away.

Fantastic Wetherspoons pub with rooms - great hotel in a wonderful historic building with all you require for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The welcome at reception was professional and friendly, and the route to the room was clean and well-maintained. The room was grand and historic, very well decorated ad maintained, nice easy chair in addition to a desk area. The television was modern and had all the free view channels, and ‘The Cloud’ Wi-Fi had fast reliable connectivity. The bed was very comfortable, with fluffy pillows and a feather duvet with a bedside power socket. Everywhere was very clean The location is in the heart of the city centre, with all the shops, bars and restaurants close by; the bus station is a five-minute walk away though the train station is a taxi ride away. This is a fabulous place to stay, wish I could take it with me everywhere I require a hotel.

I followed the sign and walked up some steps to check in to see a sign displayed, "check in at bar" Waited a few minutes and the hard working assistant manager sorted things out. The room was very nice and spacious. Complimentary hot drinks, bottled water and biscuits. Bed was okay, duvet very good, but pillows not so.

Staff are horrible, blame you for things without checking the facts. Got accused Of something I didn’t do and was completely inappropriate to confront me about it. I never stole from this place and never would. Sent a complaint off and the reply I got just was not worth my time.
