My partner and I arrived for our 1 night stay on the 15/8/2015 @ 4:30pm. We booked in at reception, given our key/card for our room and pointed off in it's direction. On entering the room we were disgusted to notice that the room was not ready for us... The bed remained "slept in" from its previous occupants with stains...

Very nice traditional Scottish hotel makes you feel really in Scotland! Very clean overall, comfortable room, great breakfast and dinner! The hotel has also a nice bar! At walking distance you can find also a complex with a bar, a restaurant and a supermarket!

Reception was ready for us and we were efficiently booked in by a receptionist who warned us that there was a function on in the hotel that night but that the music should be over by midnight. The music did end at midnight but the noisy party had a long time to wait for taxis and were outside our room...

We had a family wedding with both the ceremony and reception being held here. It was a perfect day! Staff were fantastic from the planning stages up to the day itself. Could not have asked for better service as well as getting excellent value for money. Many 'extras' at other venues are included in the overall cost here. Would recommend...

I would recommend room four which is an executive room which is absolutely huge the room and decor were very clean and tidy. We where there for...

I have been staying at the Gilvenbank on and off (more on then off) for the last three and a half years with work and have always found it welcoming and friendly. The rooms are always clean and the showers are really powerful, unlike some where the water 'dribbles' out. The meals in the restaurant are of good quality although...

Had a meal here tonight, was after 8pm so asked if food still being served - greeted with a warm smile and advised they were. Shouted my wife and son out of car to come in and dine. Service was prompt - only us 3 in. Placed order. My Arbroath smokies fishcakes arrived with a 'sour smell' noticed by myself...

We stayed here Dec/Jan for 2 weeks. It was recommended to us as being friendly and good value, which it certainly was. We got to know the many staff here and they really made our stay so much better. The rooms are a decent size with a desk and chair and slimline tv. Internet is also included which was necessary...
