Staying at the OCH during Open week at St Andrews ensures at least a couple of things. For certain the Hotel will be full and therefore all resources stretched, and the rates will be set at the absolute maximum possible. Perhaps even to an extent that could be deemed excessive. But the market dictates and fair enough too. Both were... More

Stayed there starting the Monday after the Open weekend. Watched the finale from the Bar. Awesome hotel, excellent service, friendly, helpful. Rooms are nothing special but nice and roomy. The beds are small - Queen size - we prefer King beds - but the mattress was so fantastic it was fine.

Nice spacious large rooms, welcomed our son with a stuffed bear and kite on his bed and later with cookies and milk. Room was a little tired, but the staff were attentive. Easy walking distance to all of the St. Andrews sights, breakfast in a stunning setting overlooking the sea and golf course

I felt so sorry for my colleague who was treating me. Over £500 for a ticket and buffet lunch that a 5 year could have prepared better. Kicked out at 6pm. Nearly 300 people in such a small area that you kept falling over other folks while navigating around the tables. The view from the 17th. There was no view.... More

Like the previous reviewer I was a guest in a private suite to view the open championship, staff were excellent, but what should have been an outstanding day was let down by total mediocre food, lukewarm breakfast coffee and bacon rolls so hard they crumbled into pieces when you bit into them, the pork belly and potatoes at lunchtime were... Dear Guest, Thank you for your most valid points regarding your experience in one of the private hospitality suites during The Open. I was pleased to learn that the service was to a 5* level, but very disappointed that the food quality was well below par. I can only assume that the rolls had been sitting for too long under... Recently went to the Hall of Champions within the old course hotel as part of a hospitality package for The Open costing quite a lot.
