Used to spend time in the bar here as a student and revisited on a reunion. Still a friendly welcome and a great atmosphere. Eight of us enjoyed soup and stovies in the bar mid afternoon, both hot and delicious. The stovies were full of meat and flavour. Other dishes looked good too. Good value and just a really pleasant... More

It is a must stop place when golfing in St. Andrews. Photos all over the walls, golf on the TV seemingly all the time and lots of history (and beer and scotch) to be had. Everyone is super friendly and it is fun to sit and listen to the groups of golfers relive their rounds on the Old Course from... More

We have just recently bought a caravan in St Andrews and are fairly new visitors despite living about an hour away from it. On a visit a few weekends ago we past The Dunvegan and I spotted someone eating the best looking chicken wings I have ever seen and I thought I must have them. On speaking to another caravan... Although not stayed in the hotel I have visited the bar on every night of my 20 visits to St Andrews and the place and friendliness of the staff has got better as the years have passed. Hope this continues for many years to come and hope to still see Jack and Sheena around the place on next visit. CHEERS... More

Brilliant annual trip to this pub! Great lunch with the family, food very fresh and tasty, service great as ever, would highly recommend a visit particularly if you are a fan of golf. Fish and chips and chilli nachos are superb

First stayed here 4 years ago and returned this year for 4 nights. Jack and Sheena are great hosts and will be sad to see them go after 23 years. They also helped with golf course bookings and other logistics. The service from the bar team was great. A unique place for those who are golf enthusiasts, a must visit!... More

We did not stay at the hotel but stopped by the pub/restaurant. We ate at the bar and had fish and chips and drinks. Great food and the service was fast and efficient. Our servers were Mark and the manager Luke. These 2 work great together and your food and drink is in front of you before you know it.... More

A good busy bar is part of this hotel just up from the old course. Now whilst I appreciate St Andrews is the home of golf , it seems you need to go bedecked in golf clothing to get any conversation or civility from the owner. We have been here a few times and whilst the food is good ,... More

Okay... Let's be honest. If you're going to St Andrews, you're likely going to golf and then drink pints. This is the place. Come to the Dunvegan to bask in all that the golf world can offer you. Amazing memorabilia on every flat surface. Good food. Good scotch. Good beer. Great service. Nice tiny patios too! If you're fortunate, you'll... More

I retired in 2015 and immediately began planning a golf trip with my favorite foursome to St Andrews. The advice I was given by everyone who had been before me was to stay at the Dunvegan - just a 9 iron from the first tee at the old course, depending on the wind. After a long day of travel, toting... More
