The Albany Hotek has a great loaction, in the center of the town and a block from the sea. The staff was friendly and always happy to help. I was travelling on my own so I booked a single room though my room was tiny, it was very sweet!

Nothing in St Andrews is going to be cheap given the location and the history, however this is a good hotel close to the golf courses. The rooms are small but well furnished , the breakast is very good and the service outstanding. We managed to park for free just outside the front door which helped with the luggage and the...

We have just come back from an amazing stay in the Albany Hotel, St Andrew. It's a small friendly guest house, with a bar... The rooms were clean, warm and had everything you needed. The staff were so warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. They coped so well with a large, over excited wedding party for our daughters...

Stayed overnight on a visit to see my student daughters. Small room but does the job although plumbing not fantastic. There might be nicer rooms in the hotel. Breakfast was fine. Location is really good with free street parking though watch out to check that you are in the freezing as it isn't for the whole street. Would return as useful...

We were a party of 24 Golfers. Right from the off, with the booking to arrival, the response and attention to detail from the hotel staff was fantastic. We changed the booking a couple of times, moved the dates around, changed occupancy of rooms etc. and nothing seemed too much trouble. The hotel also recommended and booked restaurants for us....

19 Golfers stayed for the final night of our trip to Fife. We were delighted with the standard of the rooms friendliness of the staff and the quality of the breakfast. We have visited Scotland over the past 20 years and this was the best hotel we have had.

I stayed here for one night with my family. It was a nice stay. The rooms were quite small, but very good toiletries. It is not suitable for people with mobility problems as the stairs are steep and breakfast is in the basement. Breakfast was excellent hot and freshly prepared. It is expensive for a hotel of this standard

Still thinking about our recent trip and telling friends and families about our experiences and memories. To do that properly, I must recount our experience at The Albany Hotel. The Albany is not the largest or most modern hotel one will ever stay, but the warmth and welcome home attitude provided by the “family” at The Albany could never be...

Stayed for 1 night and wished it had been longer. Nice clean rooms, breakfast was fantastic with a fantastic selection and the staff were also very friendly and attentive. Nice lounge to sit and have a great GnT at the end of a hard day's golf.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a small, friendly, informal 3 star hotel. The first in St Andrews to be awarded the prestigious title 'Townhouse Hotel' by the Scottish Tourist Board. The quaint old building has a warm personality all of its own. You will love the craftsmanship of the many original features. Built from 1764, the hotel consists of two Georgian terraced houses, both exactly the same layout, built for two brothers by their father, Mr Thomas Low. With only 22 rooms (all en-suite), we are able to maintain very high standards in accommodation and service without losing our warm and caring attitude towards our guests. Special, great value seasonal, weekend and golf breaks are often available, so contact the hotel for details. The hotel will also be delighted to help arrange golf, sightseeing tours and visits to places of interest. We look forward to you spending some time with us at The Albany Hotel and getting a real flavour for everything St Andrews has to offer. ... more   less
