This was our first time staying here and in Glasgow. We arrived in the rain and although a little early for checking in were welcomed in and given the option of leaving our two bags. My daughter (14) and I returned later that evening and were given a twin room on the top floor. The room had two comfortable twin...

We arrived mid Friday afternoon to be greeted by a not-so-happy-to-be-here Marlene. It's the first time we've stayed at a hotel and not (at least) been offered help with baggage to the room! Room was clean, beds and pillows extremely comfy and a good nights sleep both nights was most welcome. Stayed on room only basis and regretted not having...

Travelling alone I needed to stay overnight in Glasgow and was attracted to the Acorn because I was visiting in the city centre and a couple of nearby suburbs. The Acorn was well located for me and provided comfortable, stylish and clean accommodation at a reasonable rate. The bed was very comfortable and the en-suite shower bathroom was very good....

Six of us stayed for one night in five rooms and the unanimous comment was 'excellent.' Its location suited our needs perfectly and the level of cleanliness and service was first class. Very good shower. Excellent breakfast and great value. It would be a first choice on a future trip.

So much value was added to our trip by the exceptional service provided by the manager on duty, Rosalyn. This included driving directions, carrying luggage to the top floor, informtion on places to go and offers of assistance on every level of a travellers needs. Some of these might sound commonplace in hospitality but it is very rare to meet...

I have stayed here twice. The particularly good customer service and breakfast and the pleasant decor, cleanliness and good locatation and good value outweighed for me the downside of the noise from the bar below ground floor rooms in which I have stayed on both occasions. If you are someone who has poor balance ask for a shower mat as...

I would prefer to give the Acorn hotel 2 1/2 but again it is not possible. The hotel was clean and safe, that was a plus, but indifferent staff and terrible beds could not justify more than 2 stars. Again the hotel was okay, and the rooms were clean, but the beds were so worn and uncomfortable that it felt...
