My husband and I stay here when we visit our son at uni. It is a friendly hotel with clean rooms, good facilities in a quiet area. It should be noted that they cannot accommodate everyone for breakfast and you need to book it the night before. However, there are some very good little cafes nearby which do some delicious...

I felt really comfortable in my room for one. Staff was friendly, and the stay enjoyable. The bed was great, and the bathroom had been recently renewed. A plus: it's across the street from an entrance to the botanic gardens, which you access by crossing a picturesque bridge over the Kelvin River. 1 A brisk walk to the bus (about 8...

We stayed for two nights over the recent Bankholiday weekend, arrived around 2pm and we were booked in by Angela who gave us a very warm welcome, she allocated us in the Embassy Apartment's in room 20 which had just been refurbished, literally the previous day. Angela explained that we would be the first to stay in the room and...

Great hotel. We had a great room overlooking the roof tops right at the top of the house. The bedroom was always clean, towels changed every day. The manager "Angela" was exceptionally nice, who went out her way to help you. She did a great job and works very hard to accommodate every one. In fact, my husband and I...

This great hotel is only around ten miles (20 minutes drive when not too busy) from Glasgow Airport and, although only a few minutes drive from the motorway, is actually within a very peaceful residential area right next to the Botanic Gardens. It is a short distance from the nearest underground station, and the 6 and 6a buses also take...

A cute, recently renovated boutique hotel next to the Botanical Gardens in the West End of Edinburgh. Walking distance to Edinburgh University and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Excellent full English breakfast served in a nice eating room; the breakfast will keep you going all day. Fresh, clear room with a nice queen-sized bed, decorative pillows in Scottish tweeds,...

Selected the Ambassador based on reviews, location and price. All very clean and suitable for short visit to Glasgow. The gentlemen on reception when we arrived was pleasant and helpful. Sorry didn't get his name. He was also behind the desk in the morning, supporting the breakfast as well. All very nice. Good location, easy walk to Subway (Clockwork Orange)...

The hotel is clean and all facilities are provided. Coffee, tea etc. Rooms cleaned daily with helpful staff. Very reasonably priced and adjacent to Kelvin Gardens. The rooms have been recently renovated, the shower room/toilet was good. However the twin room we were allocated, No 4, was narrow and had a "damp" smell. (Actually we thought the smell was of...

Currently working away from home in Glasgow and stay here every week. I spent many hours searching the internet for somewhere I would be happy with, and eventually decided on the Ambassador...happy to say I got it right first time! Modern and spotlessly clean rooms, safe off-street parking, and great location a short walk from Byres Road. Staff are very...

We had a triple room on the ground floor. The room was lovely, very high ceilings and lots of period features. There was a kettle with tea and posh biscuits. I thought it might be noisy at night, being on the ground floor at the front, but there was no noise at all. The staff were nice and helpful. The...
