I recently spent two nights at the Victorian House, one of several guest houses on Renfrew Street in downtown Glasgow. Victorian House is very conveniently located near Sauchiehall Street, within walking distance of the subway, bus station and train station. I was looking for convenience, basic comfort, a degree of self-service and affordable cost rather than luxury, and indeed that's... More

I stayed here for one night with my boyfriend and we booked via LateRooms, total cost £71 which included a full cooked breakfast in the morning (continental options also available). ROOM: We had a double attic room with en-suite (number 22) and on the whole were pretty pleased with it. Fairly bright room with modern decor, including wooden flooring, tea... More

We booked via booking.com for a single, en-suite room but then phoned the hotel directly to change this to a twin room and were told that it was updated on their system. When we arrived at 9pm (having phoned to say we would be arriving at that time) we were told there was no record of the phone call changing... More

Booked to attend nearby concert. Good area, close to Glasgow town centre. The extremely steep hills down can be avoided by walking further along and then heading down. The hotel itself is okay, woukdnt say it was worth what we paid for one night... very dissapointed by the flights of stairs with no lift and this was after checking about... More

My colleagues and I booked this hotel to stay in during the Lib Dem party conference. The desk staff were cheery and pleasant and the rooms - though basic - were fine. But the organisation and food were utterly atrocious. The main issues were: 1. We had booked four rooms so that I and each of my colleagues could have... More

Miss Helena Stroud Thank You for your your review. I was actually in the process of sending yourself an email reply after speaking to your colleague last friday. I asked to be given till Friday 27th, you are obviously hasty regarding this matter and have decided to take matters public. This is not a problem. I am sorry you were... More

Victorian House is comfortable and clean. The staff are helpful and overall the place has the air of an upmarket youth hostel. The bedroom was clean, tidy and spacious; there was no street noise and the bathroom facilities were very clean.
