In rundown area of city. They short sheeted the beds. Bath had shower with screen that did not hold back. No safety rains, No racks for towels for 3 person room. Toilet lid falling off. Breakfast too late to meet tours. Internet did not work, One life out of order. Springs in mattresses poked our backs. Room did not have...

Located a couple of minutes walk from Central Station, the Alexander Thompson is a good reasonably priced hotel. It has basic facilities, but the bedroom was clean and comfortable. The bathroom area was also clean and fit for purpose. Friendly staff, and a breakfast more than adequete . Recommend to all , real value for money

Myself and my partner booked this hotel for 3 nights as we were attending a wedding on the Saturday in Glasgow. Upon arrival in the morning, we were told check-in was at 2pm and did we want to leave our bags in the luggage room. This was absolutely fine and expected, however, the welcome wasn't overly friendly. The interior of...

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Just handy for everything! Central Station, shops and Wetherspoons nearby, One can walk to most attractions. The outside of the hotel is off putting but the hotel improves the more one explores. Our room was warm but noisy outside. Our television was hanging off the wall and the shower needed fixing....

first impression was not favourable , surly reception staff and shabby room finishings. Bed was lumpy and pillow thin and hard. view was of a demolition site. Redeeming features were the good breakfast and convenient location.

Stayed here for two nights last weekend. The entrance to the hotel is not very prepossessing not very nice at all.My room was nice, warm and comfortable with an en suite bathroom. The bags of laundry in the corridor were there throughout my stay. Breakfast was not good, the sausages were hard, food was either lukewarm or cold and I...

If your staying for 1 night then this is a great spot in a superb location for the price. Yes its basic and could do with a makeover but its clean enough and does the job. A few criticisms though, the breakfast looked great and had a good variety buffet style but when you ate it it was horrible! The...

the Alexander Thomson is located on Argyle Street, a short walk from the major shopping area, handy for buses etc. There's also a concession with the Car Park on Jamaica St, if you bring a car. The local street has bars and restaurants on the same block. That part of Argyle St is starting to show it's age a little,...
