My sister and I stayed here recently and booked a twin room. It was huge with two double beds in it. The en-suite was also big. Our first impressions on entering the room was Wow!
Nice furnishings and comfortable beds. Clean and tidy.
I have just recently returned from a two night stay at this hotel and it was my third time staying there. I can't believe some of the really negative comments re dirt, uncomfortable beds, dirty bedding, poor breakfast etc. I am an ex cleaning contractor...More
We stayed at this hotel in August before our tour in Scotland. The room was very spacious but VERY dirty with 1960’s mattresses on bed and very hard..rundown. Cleaned towels were laid on filthy tired bedspreads as we entered the room. (Have a look in...More
We had a room with three separated beds and it was huge. The staff is nice and the breakfast was good. Only the bathroom could use a little update.
All in all it is a great choice and I would recommend it, especially because of...More

The hotel is situated on a terrace - a small service road set back from and running parallel to the main road (Great Western Road). This is very quiet and you will have no problem stopping right in front of the hotel to unload your bags. You should ask the hotel for advice about parking as there are lots of restrictions in that part of the city (including resident permits). I would not have any concerns about leaving my car on the street in this area. It is a very safe part of the city. Enjoy your time in Glasgow and be sure to explore the West End (round about where you are staying). Check out Ashton Lane for pubs and restaurants and take the short walk down to the University campus.

"if you can handle two flights of stairs 5A is excellent facing main road but no noise at all."
