Stayed here for one night with my family 5 of us in total. On arrival we were lucky that our room was ready an hour early only to be told that our family room was on second floor with no lift where we had a 4.5 month old baby in a pram so we had to carry pram up two flights of stairs. Room was very dated and in need of a huge makeover! Beds were very uncomfortable. We had made a dinner reservation for 6pm when we got down to the restaurant there was the biggest queue ever where we had to wait 30 minutes to be taken to our table (not good with 2 kids and an infant) we sat down at our table and it hadn’t been cleaned the cutlery had food on it, table was disgusting we didn’t once see anyone wipe any tables or floors which during a pandemic you would thing would be high priority… we went to get dinner and it was rammed with people everyone touching same utensils etc 🤢 the dinner was awful not much of a choice but it put you off eating after seeing how dirty everything was!!!! The toilets beside reception were disgusting like the restaurant these were never cleaned!!!! We decided to just leave and head back to the room where we couldn’t wait for morning to leave. On check out I handed the card back and I wasn’t asked how our stay was and if everything was ok. All I got was “room number?” Then ok that’s it done. AVOID AT ALL COSTS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!!

I am just back from a family break and we could not fault this hotel at all. Yes it’s busy but what hotels aren’t! They staff do everything they can to make sure your stay is enjoyable, they can’t be more helpful. When you make your booking it does tell you to book ahead your breakfast, meals and swimming. We did this and we didn’t have any problems who so ever. Breakfast was lovely in the morning, there was a queue but the staff working tirelessly to clear tables quickly to allow people to get seated. Most people arrive 1 hour before breakfast is due to finish so obviously there is going to be large queues. We did not eat in the restaurant but there are so many lovely restaurants in aviemore and takeaways that you will never go hungry. We had the family room and it was spotless. The children slept in bunk beds and we had a comfy double bed. The dog was able to sit with us also which was great. I think people need to remember that after covid every where is short staffed, things are different now and that’s just life now! We will definitely be returning hopefully for a Christmas break.

We have just returned from a fun 2 night stay in a family room. I was apprehensive about our stay after reading the recent reviews but overall we had a great stay and most importantly our kids we’re happy and had fun. We arrived at 3pm and our room was ready. The room was very clean, and a good size with 2 comfy double beds. The bathroom was dated, but clean. We had pre- booked swimming for 3.30 that day, you need to arrive at the pool in your swimming stuff as the changing rooms are being renovated. There is 2 big pools, 1 was quite cold and the other was lovely and warm, it also had bubble beds. The kids had a great time. (I noticed the swimming was fully booked for 3 days, booking in advance is important) We went in to Aviemore for dinner however I had a look at the evening buffet offered by the hotel, it looked nice with lots of choice and was very busy. (I think you need to book in advance and I did notice some people were being turned away). When we came back to the hotel the bar/foyer area was very busy with lots of family’s, we wouldn’t have been able to get a table if we had wanted one. The next morning we went for breakfast at 8am, we were shown straight to a table and the buffet was of a good standard with lots of choice. There was plenty of staff working hard to clear the tables and keep the buffet well stocked. From 8.30 onwards it was very busy with queuing. We had a nice walk round the hotel grounds, the kids play park was nice and clean. We also went to the fun house soft play and the kids loved it. You can get a soft drink from the cafe but no food. Around 4pm we got a table in the foyer area for a drink from the bar, service was good and drinks were a decent price. The kids had fun playing between the 2 small arcades ( a lot of the machines were not working but the kids still played on them without costing us a fortune). We were happy relaxing in the bar that evening so ordered pizza for collection from a local restaurant and ate it in the foyer whilst having a drink and the kids played and made some friends. There was a nice family atmosphere and the kids once again had great fun Breakfast again was good the next morning and at check out you just leave your key cards in the drop box. Key points This is a very busy hotel, for family’s especially in the holidays. Due to covid/brexit they are short staffed, but every member of staff we meet was polite and helpful Pre book, swimming and you dinner arrangements. Most restaurants in Aviemore were really busy and you needed to book in advance. Remember this is a 3 star family hotel, which is very busy. It isn’t perfect but it was clear the staff were working very hard and you could see changes were being made for the better. If you are looking for 5 star luxury avoid this hotel, however if you looking for happy kids and family fun at a reasonable price go for it. Just be organised and pre book everything.

I felt sick, sad and queasy letting my family sleep there. Sadly there was no where else to go. It was supposed to be a treat for one night instead it was like some nasty, creepy exposure event. I will NEVER stay there again! The room was not clean. Our faces fell the moment we opened the door to our room. It smelt stale. I found a used packet of cigarettes on the floor, there were lots of long hairs in the shower. It was gross. Especially as we are all hyper aware of how clean everywhere needs to be. I complained and the incredibly nice stand in manager (too nice for this place) got the room cleaned (again) immediately. I still cleaned it afterwards with all the antibacterial wipes and spray I could find. The awfulness wasn't confined to the room. The hotel was cearly overbooked - there were queue's for everything. The bar floor was sticky like it was the 90's. The only restaurant was fully booked (in retrospect I'm glad it was) Breakfast was THE worst hotel breakfast I've EVER had. Coffee tasted like,.... like well nothing you'd drink. Limp 'toast' Cold powdery eggs I could go on but I'm depressing myself just recalling it. The ONLY thing going for the place is the staff I spoke to but something is very wrong with this place. Do NOT STAY HERE UNLESS you are filming a nasty end of the world type film in which case go for it!
