#1 of 12 Speciality lodging in Thurso
Travellers' Choice
This is a family run business which we took over in 2018. We moved up from Manchester/Cheshire and haven't looked back since. The Cafe, Camping and B&B are run by Clare, Phil and Aunty Babs. We have two cosy and comfortable rooms, both with en suite toilet an shower. Both newly decorated and refurbished. Coffee/Tea making facilities are also available in the communal lounge. We have over 2.5 acres of well kept grass fields for campers and camper-vans / motor-homes, all with a fantastic view of Brough Bay, The Pentland Firth and the Orkney Isles. It is a fantastic spot for viewing the Northern Lights in the winter. We are on the NC500, 3 miles from Dunnet Head Light House.

Very friendly owners. Very welcoming. Lovely views. Shame just one shower for all. But lovely shower regardless. Nice dog walking area. A bit pricey for basic amenities but worth it for views over the bay. Lovely spot. 2 very friendly dogs too.

we really enjoyed this campsite. although it’s a bit lacking in luxury showers and toilets it has the basics and the most amazing shower. the views are tremendous and the hosts go that extra mile lovely people. great walk for the dogs and we will be back.

Wonderful night camping. Clare and Phil were lovely and so welcoming both when we arrived and throughout our stay. The facilities were absolutely spotless. And the shower was a delight it was so hot. Its clear a lot of effort is put into the place. Really enjoyed our stay, hopefully if we do the NC500 again we will come and stay with nicer weather to enjoy the view more.

I don’t have the words to describe how amazing this place is! Our third visit in as many years and we always leave a piece of our heart when we leave! The place is beautiful, clean, and Phil’s breakfasts are yummy! Clare and Phil will go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as they can. Thank you both so much for a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to see you, Babs and the pups again next year with our new addition!

The staff were very friendly and helpful and very knowledgable of the area. The view of the bay is stunning. The breakfast was really yummy and I liked that you could chose what you wanted on it, it wasn’t a one size fits all. The room was cosy and there was a communal lounge. However the walls are very thin so didn’t feel as private as some people might like. Overall very lovely and would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Watch sunset from the bay and try and see puffins at Dunnet Head. Don’t go to Thurso for dinner,...
